Hello everybody!
In addition to the stretch from Thanksgiving to Christmas, the time from Easter to the end of the school year is among the busiest in the rhythm of parish life. From the celebration of Triduum, to Divine Mercy, to First Communion, to Baptisms, to numerous school events and celebrations, to our Eighth Grade Graduation and many individual graduations, and all manner of activities in between, our community keeps hopping! Added to that this year, we have mourned the death of Pope Francis and celebrated God’s gift of Pope Leo XIV as our new shepherd. As we approach the last day of school on Friday, I am grateful to God for the life and vitality, the faith and the service, of our parish family. Thank you for making our community what it is: a beacon of Christ’s love!
Of course, our ministry offerings and opportunities continue and I encourage you to keep an eye on the upcoming calendar for ways to participate. We will have mass on Memorial Day at 10:00 a.m., but the Parish Office will be closed in observance of the holiday. You may have seen The Record article about changes in posture at mass. Please look for more information in the coming weeks. You may have also seen that the Archdiocese of Louisville is embarking upon a parish planning process. Please pray for this process as we begin, like all of the parishes in the Archdiocese, by preparing a report about St. Patrick over the summer. Thanks.
Thank you, as well, for the generous response to our increased offertory program. We will provide an update on those efforts the first week of June. I extend my appreciation to those who have submitted a commitment card already. We need everyone’s support to continue our vital ministries and service the debt we incurred building the Preschool, replacing our HVAC, and, especially, the additional debt of the roof replacement. There is still the opportunity to make a commitment here. Thank you!
May God be with you and all those whom you love!
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
