MESSAGE FROM FR. JEFF

Hello everybody!

The Easter Season has ended and school’s out for summer! As another school year comes to a close, I want to thank our faculty, staff, parents, and students for a wonderful year of faith, learning, and community life. Our journey with Jesus Christ, the Risen One, goes on every day of our lives. May this summer be a time to walk closer with Jesus for us all.

This weekend, we will participate in the annual Crusade for Children collection at all Masses. Thank you in advance for your generosity in supporting children and families throughout our community. Please note that this is a week before the actual Crusade and additional details and ways to give can be found below.

Next week, the priests of the Archdiocese of Louisville will gather at St. Meinrad for our annual Presbyteral Assembly. I ask that you keep all of us in your prayers during those days of prayer, fraternity, discussion, and continuing formation. Please know that we will be praying for you, as well. Because of the Assembly, daily Mass Monday through Thursday will be a Communion Service only.

I also want to welcome and thank those who are serving in parish leadership through our Pastoral Council and School Board. I am grateful to our new Pastoral Council members: Raul Aguirre, Judy Hardison, Tammy Jenkins, and Julie Long. At the same time, I offer sincere thanks to our outgoing members: Mary Temple, Jim Hafendorfer, Amy Sheehan, and Mike Sutt for their faithful service and leadership. I am especially grateful to Mary Temple for her service as Chair. Beginning July 1, Todd Lowe will serve as Chair, Brad Conder as Vice-Chair, and John Lucchese as Secretary.

We also welcome Jenna Markowitz and Erin Leigh Williams as new members of the School Board, while thanking outgoing members Chris Kircher and John Lewellen for their service and dedication. I am grateful as well that Katelyn Bloyd will continue for another year as School Board Chair.

May the Holy Spirit guide us all on our walk with Jesus. God bless!

Peace,

Fr. Jeff
