MESSAGE FROM FR. JEFF

Hello everybody!

This weekend we celebrate Mother’s Day, a time to give thanks for the gift of mothers and for the many ways they reflect God’s love in our lives. At all Masses, we will offer a Blessing of the Child in the Womb for expectant mothers and fathers. The Knights of Columbus will also kick off the Baby Bottle Boomerang to support Little Way Pregnancy Center. I encourage you to consider taking a bottle home and returning it with your donation in the coming weeks.

I also want to share a parish update regarding priest assignments. As was announced at masses this past weekend, Fr. Wilfredo Fernandez has been appointed pastor of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, effective July 1. While we will certainly miss him, we are grateful for his ministry here and wish him every blessing in this new role. At the same time, we look forward to welcoming Deacon Evrard Muhoza, who will be ordained to the priesthood on May 30 and assigned here as our new associate pastor beginning July 1. Due to previously planned travel with his family to Africa, he will arrive and begin his ministry with us on July 13. Please keep both Fr. Wilfredo and Deacon Evrard in your prayers during this time of transition.

On Sunday, May 17, we will recognize and thank Tammy Kessler for her faithful ministry at St. Patrick. Her final day will be this Friday, May 8. Tammy has made a meaningful impact on our parish community, and we are deeply grateful for her service. It has been a joy to see her develop her gifts over the past number of years and use them in service to God and his church. We wish her only the best as she will now offer those gifts for the work of Catholic Charities and parishes across our archdiocese.

Thank you to everyone who has already responded to our stewardship renewal. If you have not yet submitted your form for the 2026–27 fiscal year, I invite you to prayerfully consider how you are being called to share your time, talent, and treasure in the year ahead. Additional details can be found under the Giving Together section.

We are also excited to introduce a new ministry at St. Patrick: the St. Serra Club. This group will focus on fostering and supporting vocations to the priesthood and religious life through prayer, encouragement, and awareness within our parish. If you feel called to support this ministry, please indicate that in your stewardship renewal. Thanks.

Jesus Christ is risen! May his peace dwell in your heart.

Peace,

Fr. Jeff

Important Security Alert: Phishing Scams

If you are unsure, do not respond - instead, contact the parish office directly for verification.

SERVING TOGETHER

Pastoral Council & School Board Nominations - Deadline May 10

Now is the time to nominate yourself or someone you know to serve on our Pastoral Council and School Board.

The Pastoral Council is the advisory Board to the pastor. Members advise the pastor in planning for the pastoral development of the parish and should have deep faith, imagination, broad experience and sound judgement. Members serve a three-year term and meet once a month, with the exception of December, June and July.

The School Board serves in an advisory role to assist the Pastor and Principal on matters relating to school policies. Members serve a three year term and meet seven times throughout the year. Members should be committed to the success of Catholic education and be able to work with others in achieving consensus for the good of the entire school community.

Hard copy forms located at the Welcome Desk in the church or School Office or scan the QR code below for online submissions.

Please return hard copy forms to the green box on the Welcome Desk in the gathering space no later than Sunday, May 10. The drawings will take place on Pentecost Sunday, May 24 at 11:00 a.m. Mass. Contact the parish office if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your prayerful discernment and support of this process.
