Hello everybody!
Summer is moving along quickly, and I hope these weeks provide opportunities for rest, renewal, and time with those we love. The rhythms of summer are different, and that can be a gift. God often speaks to us not only in the busyness of life, but also in moments of quiet, recreation, and renewal.
This weekend will be Fr. Wilfredo's final weekend with us before he begins his new assignment as pastor of St. Peter the Apostle. While we have already had the opportunity to pray for him and celebrate his ministry, this will be our final chance to thank him personally and wish him well. I am grateful for his service to St. Patrick and ask that you continue to keep him in your prayers as he begins this new chapter of priestly ministry.
I also want to thank everyone who made Vacation Bible Camp such a tremendous success. Our volunteers served with enthusiasm and generosity, and our children had a wonderful experience learning practical ways to serve others as Christ has served us. It is always encouraging to see faith, joy, and service come together so beautifully in the life of our community.
As we move into July, our parish staff will observe our annual sabbatical week. During this time, staff members are encouraged to focus on personal, professional, and spiritual renewal and development. Some will be away, while others may work remotely as schedules allow. I will also be taking a week of vacation during that time. These opportunities for rest and renewal ultimately help all of us return refreshed and better able to serve the mission of the parish. I’ll look forward to my return and welcoming Fr. Evrard Muhoza as our associate pastor when he arrives on July 15.
Thank you for the many ways you continue to build up St. Patrick through your prayers, generosity, and faithful witness. May these summer days provide moments of rest, joy, and renewed trust in the Lord.
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
