MESSAGE FROM LYNNE MARSHALL

Hi everyone,

While it's not officially summer until June 20, we are already feeling like it is on campus, especially with start of summer hours in the parish and school. We transition quickly into an empty looking parking lot during the week to the sight and sound of cicadas, furniture stacked in the hallways because floors are being waxed and lots of pre-planning, reflection, and some relaxation as we move into a new fiscal year that begins on July 1, 2025. Mass and ministry continues in the summer months so please consider joining us for a daily mass, Reconciliation or Eucharistic Adoration. The schedule is listed under Praying Together.

This weekend we will celebrate Pentecost. At the 11:00 a.m. mass, there will be drawings for the Pastoral Council and School Board positions. There are four openings for each so please keep the nominees and those who are outgoing in your prayers. We will share the new members and outgoing members' names next week. There is also a graduation senior blessing at all masses for high school and college students.

Thanks to everyone who donated to the Crusade for Children collection this past weekend. We have to report our numbers on Thursday morning so if you would like to donate online, please do so now HERE

Please keep our priests in your prayers as they participate in the Presbyteral  Assembly this week at St. Meinrad.

Last but certainly not least ... St. Patrick Catholic Church is one of the top three finalists for the Best Place to Worship as part of Business First Louisville Community's Choice Awards 2025 (Best of Louisville Awards). The other two finalists are Cathedral of the Assumption and Southeast Christian Church. The winner will be announced at a gala event on Tuesday, July 15 at the Muhammad Ali Center. Stay tuned!

Have a great week!

Financial Reporting Update on Budget and Debt Service

We've had some questions regarding the financial reporting of stewardship and would like to provide some clarification.

Step One:

Last fall, after consultation with the Finance Council, we modified our previous weekly stewardship reporting to a more comprehensive year-to-date picture of our financials. You will notice a line item was added last fall, One Time Gifts YTD, to reflect the impact from our small group gatherings in response to our immediate financial challenges with budget and debt service. We received $270,380 from 33 families who gave a one-time gift. In addition, 21 of these families immediately increased their current 2024/25 stewardship commitment totaling approximately $50,000 . As of July 1, 2025, this one time gift line item will be removed from the reporting and not carry over to the new fiscal year budget.

Step Two:

The next step in our financial plan involved the Increased Offertory Program. This effort launched in March 2025 and continues to be a vital part of our plan to address our budget needs. To date we have received increased offertory commitments from 469 out of 1450 active families, which represents commitment from 32% of our parish families.

In order to meet the financial needs of our parish and supporting the ministries we all value, we need broader participation. If you haven’t yet made a commitment, we invite you to join us. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a meaningful impact.

Ways to Submit Increased Offertory Commitment:

  • Submit online at stpatlou.org > Increased Offertory Program menu on home page
  • Your new offering is effective immediately, unless you specify otherwise on your commitment card
  • Questions? Contact Lynne Marshall at 244-6083 or lmarshall@stpatlou.org.
  • Reminder - this will serve as your 2025/26 Annual Stewardship Commitment

Time and Talent for 2025/26

We updated our 2025/26 Ministry Guidebook and Directory which you will receive in early June. As a reminder, because of our Increased Offertory Program, we did not conduct a formal renewal of time and talent for the upcoming fiscal year beginning July 1, 2025. This is optional, if you choose to update time and talent, use the online form on the parish website. PLEASE NOTE: Your current time and talent will carry over unless you submit a new form.
