Hello everybody,
It is me, Fr. Loi. I am playing Fr. Jeff's role this week since he is out of town for a vacation. I don’t think I would ever be as good as he is, yet I am trying to make him proud.
I am so grateful that everything has been so wonderful for my first three weeks at St. Patrick. I am already feeling at home here. I can feel the welcoming and loving atmosphere all around the campus and from all the people of St. Pats. I did love the welcome treat from Fr. Jeff and St. Pats family, even though I missed the butter pecan. Once again, thanks so much for your warm and loving welcome.
I have been in charge this week since both Fr. Jeff and Fr. Tony are out of town. Before heading out his way, Fr. Jeff told me that I would be in charge and I was freaking out for a moment. I am so glad that everything has been good, so far. I made a promise to him that I would behave myself when he is not at home. However, living by myself in a huge rectory worries me a little bit since I am afraid that I may get lost getting back to my bedroom from the basement.
I do love celebrating Mass and hearing confessions in our church. To be honest, I already encountered some powerful moments while doing Jesus’ ministries here. I always pray for you all in my daily prayer, especially in celebrating the Eucharist. Please pray for me too.
This weekend, we will welcome Little Sisters of the Poor as the recipient of our annual mission appeal. The Little Sisters of the Poor are an international congregation of Roman Catholic women religious serving Christ in the elderly poor with one heart, one soul and one will with Jesus in over 30 countries. And one of them, Sister Dora will speak at all masses, and we invite you to participate in this important work being done in Louisville, KY.
God bless you all and may all of us be open and responsive to his love.
With gratitude,
Fr. Loi
