Hello everybody!
Thank you to everyone who donated food in July for the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. We collected 3.5 tons of food! This goes to help feed the hungry in Louisville and is an outwardly focused effort to put our faith in action. Thank you for your generosity.
On August 15, we welcome back our students for the beginning of the school year. I am excited to have the life and vitality of a full campus again and hope our students and families have had a wonderful summer break. I can’t wait to see everyone! Please keep all of our faculty, staff, students, and families in your prayers. Of course, August 15th is also the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a Holy Day of obligation. Parish masses will be at 8:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. We adjusted the 8:00 a.m. mass time to 8:30 a.m. because we want to clear traffic from the parking lot as it is the first day of school. The school will have a separate mass later in the morning on that day.
In the interest of increased safety and hospitality, we are changing our daily Mass schedule on Wednesdays beginning August 23. There will no longer be a public Mass at 8:00 a.m., but instead we will have a noon Mass on Wednesdays moving forward. Our weekly schedule, then, is 5:00 p.m. daily Mass on Mondays, 12:00 p.m. daily Mass on Wednesdays, and 8:00 a.m. daily masses on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. In the future, please be mindful, as well, of published schedules for other upcoming holy days of obligation and special masses. Thanks!
In this season of new beginnings, may we always recall that God’s mercy is never exhausted, his compassion never spent: they are renewed every morning! Great is God’s faithfulness. May God bless us all!
Peace,
Fr. Jeff
