There is some big news to announce.

Dear Friends of The Center,

The Center for America’s Horse has moved to a new location. The owner of the property we had a long-term free lease arrangement with chose not renew our contract in 2018. This came as a big surprise, and initially was very upsetting news to get. The Center was started and developed by many generous volunteers, donors, and people who wanted to see it succeed. There were years of memories made, hundreds of children who came to learn, horses rescued who found a permanent home with us, and horses laid to rest there. I am very grateful for the almost ten years I had at the Clay Hill location where I could bring my vision of a nonprofit organization for horses and people to fruition.

The good news: The Center now has a permanent home surrounded by the most magnificent views of the Green Mountains. Since September of 2018, my husband, Tim Hayes and I have been reclaiming and developing 60 acres of land only one mile from the former location. With an existing heated three stall barn and spacious tack room/lounge on the property already, it once again took hundreds of volunteer hours, donations of services and goods, and blood, sweat and some tears to create pastures, build fences and prepare for the horses homecoming.  An outdoor riding arena was built this fall so I could continue teaching and training during this transition period. I will be honest, it has not been an easy move financially, physically or emotionally. It’s been stressful, anxiety producing and exciting all at the same time.
Your gift of a year end tax-deductible donation to The Center will help us with the great expense of this transition.
The horses are getting settled in their new routines, we are riding outdoors on the trails and in the snow packed arena and loving everything about the new place. I am so blessed to have the community of Johnson, Vermont, the Spanish mustang community, and individuals coast to coast and across the pond, cheering The Center on over the years. Thank you!
With deep appreciation and gratitude,

Stephanie Hayes, Founder
