City of Dana Point Hires New Director of Community Development
After an extensive statewide recruitment, the City of Dana Point is pleased to announce the appointment of Ursula Luna-Reynosa to the position of Director of Community Development. She succeeds Kyle Butterwick who retired as Director of Community Development in November of 2012. Over seventy applicants throughout California vied for the position. After an extensive recruitment and interview process, Ms. Luna-Reynosa was the top candidate and she began her employment with the City of Dana Point just yesterday.

Dana Point Receives Newest Addition To Town Center Redevelopment Plan

The city of Dana Point just received a beautiful new gateway monument sign as part of the on-going Town Center redevelopment project. The sign was a collaborative effort between the city Public Works Department, Roma Urban Design and Landscape Architecture and Pacific Sign Center. The sign is located at the east end of Town Center right at the Pacific Coast Highway and Del Prado split. As part of this phase of the project, the area had some slight modifications to the sidewalk and turnaround lane to accommodate a new planter and wall to frame and accent the new sign.

The sign was manufactured and installed by Pacific Sign Center of Dana Point, and a long standing chamber member. "Details and planning for the new sign began several months ago and was really a joint effort involving the city, the architect and us," said Mark Kuwahara owner of Pacific Sign Center. "The city really should be commended for keeping part of the project local. The city put their trust in us to deliver, what will become an important icon of this city, and we were grateful for the opportunity. Like us, there are several local companies that can produce services and products if given the opportunity. My hope is that the city continues to support local businesses as this project and others continue to shape the local community."
