A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO

Finally. Sun. Warmer weather. Blooming trees and flowers. Whew! I think we made it to spring. Good thing, because a lot of activities are taking place around our community. Make sure you note those of interest to you and try to attend.

Today was another good and sad day at the chamber. We had to say goodbye to another great intern. We are so fortunate to have many young professionals learning at OU-C and to have an opportunity to work with them for a semester. Today was Karlie Field's final day. Like all of our interns, she'll make someone an excellent employee. Best of luck Karlie, and thanks so much for all you did while you were here.

Congratulations to Cindy Henderson. Today, she was recognized for her work in beautifying and remodeling work at Old Town Fabric Shop on West Water Street. She was given a certificate today during an Arbor Day ceremony in the park by city park director Bill Bonner.

Just a reminder of the upcoming May 8 Primary Election. Ohio voters will be deciding on many candidates in several races and also will have the chance to vote on one statewide ballot issue.
Issue 1 is the proposed constitutional amendment that creates a bipartisan, public process for drawing congressional districts.

To learn more about this statewide issue, visit the Ohio Secretary of State's website at www.OhioSecretaryofState.gov and click on "Know Your Ballot Issue". The website also is a resource for information on absentee voting, voting early in person, and Election Day procedures.

Enjoy your weekend!

NEW NETWORKING OPPORTUNITY

Are you too busy in the evenings to attend our Business After Business?  Do large crowds make you nervous or uncomfortable?  The Chamber is paying attention and trying to find opportunities for everyone to make connections and develop relationships.  Our newest venture will be, Lunch With 12 Strangers.  Most people get a lunch break and why not use that time to meet some new people?  Twelve is a small group and it will be a very relaxed atmosphere.  Lunch will be on your own or paid individually.  We will order lunch, tell a little about ourselves and where we work and what we are trying to accomplish.  The first 12 people to register will attend the event.  It is important that if you register, that you do attend.

Our first Lunch With 12 Strangers will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd, from 11:30am to 1:00pm at Tumbleweed in Chillicothe.  Make sure you don't hesitate, register today!
