A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO

Congratulations to the teams that participated in The Valero Cup, the chamber's annual golf outing. Last Friday, we had a great day of networking and fellowship as 32 teams competed for our coveted title. Thanks so much to all of the sponsors and businesses, some 106 of you, who supported the chamber in our annual event. For those who couldn't make it, or missed it, we'll see you next year. We're already planning for the 2019 edition of The Valero Cup.

This week, we welcomed new investors with our quarterly New Member breakfast, sponsored by Ross County Banking Center. This past quarter, 22 new members joined the chamber.

I want to remind you of an upcoming event that is very important to the health of our community.
The Ross County Suicide Prevention Coalition will be sponsoring a Teen Suicide Prevention Seminar, in conjunction with Adena Health System, on Sept. 21. Each year, our community tragically loses loved ones to suicide. This upcoming event will target this topic and will be led byJames Mazza, PhD, a professor at the University of Washington and a nationally recognized expert on teen suicide. The seminar will be free and lunch will be provided. Also, Continuing Education Credits will be available for nurses, social workers, and school guidance counselors. Online registration will be available at www.eventbright.com

To help these efforts, the Coalition will be hosting their annual "Connecting For Life" 5k run/walk on Sept. 6 at 7 PM. Online registration of $15 is available at https://rcspc5k.eventbrite.com

Please join me in supporting this effort to bring light to this continued issue in our community.
