A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO

On Wednesday, a diehard group of people weathered the rain and had a great time at our March Business after Business. The event was hosted by Stonecreek Dental Care on North Bridge Street and catered by Olive Garden and Classic Brands. A huge thank you to Chris Higley for setting up a couple of large tents to protect us from the elements.

Everyone had a wonderful networking time. The staff at Stonecreek was, as they always are, welcoming and showed their community pride and partnership through their efforts in hosting.

Thursday was a special day to celebrate. It was National Mom and Pop Business Owner's Day. It's a day to honor those people who have made the sacrifice to provide services they love as a small business owner. Small businesses are a vital part of our community's economy. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, there are more than 27 million small businesses in the United States.

Anyone who owns a small business, or works at one, knows of the long hours, hard work and the much-needed dedication it takes to be successful. And those who are fortunate to have generations of family ownership know the importance of that hard work and dedication.
Continue to help us thank and acknowledge these special individuals by shopping local. Tell them 'thank you' for their hard work, dedication and commitment to keeping small business a vital part of our lives.

This is a wonderful weekend as we transition from winter into spring. Easter brings joy and renewed life and you can not only sense the change, but see it in the blooms of the flowers and greening of the grass and budding of trees. Enjoy this weekend and celebrate!

FIRST FRIDAY BUSINESS BUILDER- KINGSTON

The Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its First Friday Business Builder at Kingston's Village Inn, 30 N. Main St., April 6, from 8:30-9:30 AM. This is an open forum for citizens of the community, business owners, local elected officials, farmers, and anyone interested in talking about their community.

This is the second in a series of First Fridays taking place monthly in each of the county's villages to gain more knowledge about issues and concerns.

"Working together to build a strong community is the focus of the chamber in 2018, and our goal is to listen, learn, and share as we work to meet the mission of the chamber in this area, promoting economic and community development by providing services and addressing issues important to business."
