A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO
A flurry of activity is taking place in downtown Chillicothe today. City workers are repositioning some of the large flower pots that will be planted with brightly colored flowers in the next week or two. The pots will be featured at the intersections at Paint and Main, Paint and Second, and Paint and Water streets. Hanging baskets also will be placed throughout the downtown. And many of our downtown businesses are putting out special baskets and pots as we celebrate the Downtown Spring Open House that will be held over Mother's Day weekend in May. It also will coordinate with the city's first Bloom Tour, giving you an opportunity to vote on the best-looking display. More details about the Bloom Tour will be coming soon.

Other activities downtown include volunteers from EPIC and United Way who are participating the in the Day of Caring. Volunteers are working to clean up areas of the downtown by painting benches and doing other cleanup work.

Two walks supporting different organizations will be taking place this weekend also, both beginning in Yoctangee Park. On Saturday, the Water-Can Walk event will happen at the Kiwanis Shelter behind the YMCA at 9 AM and on Sunday, the March of Dimes' March for Babies steps off in front of the Pump House at 11.

Enjoy your weekend, shop and dine local and thanks for all everyone is doing to make our area the best place to live, work and play in Ohio.

SMALL BUSINESS WEEK
We hope that you will consider joining us as we promote and celebrate Small Businesses during the first week of May. Small Business Week was started in 1963 by President Lyndon B. We hope that you will consider joining us in celebrating small business! Please join us for one of the following events:

Wednesday, May 3rd- Cash Mob Wednesday. Meet us at the entrance of Yoctangee Park, at the Paint and Water Streets, at 5:15PM to get the clues for this months location. We will then make our way to the business to show them some mob love.

Thursday, May 4th- "Resource Thursday"- As a small business you may be the CEO, HR Manager, Marketing Manager, maintenance person, and cashier all in one. Let us help connect you with resources to help your business thrive. Join us from 12-1PM for a member benefit recap and then from 3-4 we will be a hosting a SLN Connect webinar.

Friday, May 5th- CELEBRATE Small Business! Join us at the Chamber from 3-4PM as we enjoy cake and celebrate the small businesses in our community. We hope that you will take a few moments to stop by!

Small Business Week is a great way to honor the entrepreneurs who had a vision and made it a realty. Remember from April 30th-May 6th to thank and praise all the small business owners in your life.
