The 2017 General Election is now behind us and congratulations to all of the local candidates and issues who won in this year's election. And, thanks to those candidates who were involved in the election process. This is what makes our democracy great. And we wish everyone the best of luck as they start their new terms of office.

Finally, congratulations to our fall sports athletes. Many of the teams' seasons have come to an end and it's always exciting to attend the games and join in with the excitement. Best of luck to the Southeastern football Panthers as they try to extend their season past week 12.

  • Saturday, November 18th from 10AM-3PM is the annual Bishop Flaget Christmas Bazaar and chicken noodle carry out. Event will feature 60+ vendors, call 740-774-2970 for more info
  • Military Veterans Resource Center serves over 1500 meals a month to veterans and their families. In 2016 they gave out over 70 tons of food. Food donations are being accepted at various locations around town, for more information call 740-571-4555 
  • Friday, November 17th the Paxton Theatre will be hosting Russell Moore, for more information visit facebook.com/paxtontheatre 
  • H&N located at 336 N. High St. is currently collecting new or gently used toys, electronics, and clothes for the Zion Baptist Church annual Christmas give-a-way beginning at 11AM Tuesdays-Saturdays
