A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO

Our hearts are heavy throughout our community as we mourn the loss of John Herlihy Jr., John Wend, and David Uhrig. Each of these gentlemen were instrumental in many different segments of our area, but all contributed to making Chillicothe and Ross County a better place to live, work, and play. We thank them for their work, dedication and commitment and our thoughts and prayers are with their families and loved ones.

Thousands of people enjoyed a great Halloween weekend. The Discover Downtown Chillicothe Trick or Treat event drew hundreds of kids to more than 50 downtown locations to pick up treats from our dedicated shopkeepers. And the Halloween Parade was huge! Special thanks to Chamber Board of Directors Chair Susan Gearhart and Vice Chair Jeffrey Marshall for being in the parade this year. They rode in Jeff's 1926 Model T.

This weekend the village of Bainbridge will be highlighted as RFD TV is in town to film a Christmas special at the historic Paxton Theatre. Saturday at 2 PM a parade will be held through the village streets and then Saturday evening's show will feature a patriotic theme. Sunday's TV taping begins at 2 PM, doors open at 1 PM. For more information visit the theatre's website at www.paxtontheatre.com.

As in keeping with the bylaws of the Chamber of Commerce, it is time to notify our membership of the opportunity to nominate someone to the Board of Directors. Official nominations have been closed and the Nominating Committee will be selecting from those names submitted for a vote before the Board during the November meeting.  In addition to those nominees selected by the Nominating Committee, and ten (10) members of the Chillicothe Ross Chamber of Commerce in good standing may jointly nominate one or more members of the Chamber for Director(s) and signed by such ten (10) members; such filing with the Chair of the Board is to be not later than 7 days after this notification.

Finally, don't forget we get an extra hour to sleep on Saturday night. Daylight Savings Time begins at 2AM Sunday. So, enjoy the extra time, and the weekend.
