We're half way through high school football season, leaves are changing and the surroundings are starting to prepare for our fall and winter holiday traditions. It's hard to believe how this year has seemed to fly by.
As part of our newest committee's efforts, the Discover Downtown Partnership has started to decorate the heart of our city with scarecrows. There will be close to 40 around the downtown this year. This is a contest, so make sure you vote for your favorite. And thanks to those businesses, organizations, civic groups, and individuals for putting so much time and effort into this fun event.
I'd also like to take a moment to thank our board and staff. We have worked hard this year to coordinate efforts to help our community grow and become a better place to live, work, and play. Briana and Bobbi have put in countless hours to these efforts and they're the best staff a Chamber could ask for. We're fortunate to have their talents and know they have your best interests at heart.
Because of our involvement with so many committees, organizations, and civic efforts there will be times when all of us are out of the office. It doesn't happen often, but will on occasion. Please feel free to email any of us, or leave a voice message. If we were all sitting at our desks all day, I'd be more concerned about our lack of involvement than when we're out building and promoting our community. Thanks for your understanding.
Congratulations to the team at LongHorn Steakhouse. Recently they were honored with the company's Team Excellence award, presented annually to recognize teamwork and an ongoing commitment to an excellent guest experience. Well deserved!
Have a great weekend here in the Scioto Valley, best of luck to all area sports teams, and enjoy this change of seasons.
