Relaunch of Ross County 2-1-1 a big step forward for those in need
Culminating a project years in the making, United Way of Ross County announced the relaunch of the local 2-1-1 Helpline earlier today.

"People across our county now have unprecedented access to the free information and referral helpline," said Rick W. Smith Sr., president and CEO of United Way of Ross County. "We are very pleased to be able to reintroduce this important service to our community, which now utilizes better technology and provides access to more than 200 support agencies."

2-1-1 is a free, confidential helpline that offers a central access point to health and human service providers in Ross County. Everyday thousands of people across North America turn to 2-1-1 for information and support—whether financial, domestic, health, food, or disaster-related. 2-1-1 is a free, confidential referral and information helpline and website that connects people of all ages to the essential health and human services they need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

2-1-1 can be accessed by phone or computer. A toll-free call to 2-1-1 connects anyone in Ross County to a community resource specialist who can put the caller in touch with local organizations that provide critical services that can improve—and save—lives.
Catching up on building permit reports
We've not updated our building permit reports since last year, so we're catching up. The December and January listings show some curious information, including Old Capitol Brewing's renovation of the 79 N. Paint St. space, and more. Check out the reports by clicking here .

News and notes
Ohio EPA Compliance Conference coming in late March
It's challenging sometimes to know all the changing environmental regulations. Ohio EPA recognizes this and offers an annual Compliance Conference to help take some of the stigma out of working with the EPA. The conference is set for March 31-April 1 at the Columbus Convention Center.
