Congratulations to our Newly Elected West Winnipeg City Councillors
Last Wednesday, October 24, 2018, Winnipeggers voted and elected city councillors, Scott Gillingham for the St. James ward and Kevin Klein for Charleswood - Tuxedo ward.

The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce will continue to meet with our elected officials to advocate on behalf of our members and their local business needs.

The Chamber's Advocacy & Development Committee is currently addressing:
  • bus service in West Winnipeg
  • the land north of Saskatchewan Avenue including the lack of water service

The Government of Canada is committed to advancing gender equality, women's economic empowerment and support women entrepreneurs through the new Women Entrepreneurship Strategy. (the Strategy), announced in Budget 2018.
The WES Ecosystem Fund is investing $85 million over five years to strengthen capacity within the entrepreneurship ecosystem and close gaps in service for women entrepreneurs. Projects must be led by non-profit organizations (including social enterprises and cooperatives) and be inclusive of the needs of diverse and under-represented women.

The objective of the Women Entrepreneurship Fund is to provide support to women to grow their businesses and facilitate their pursuit of opportunities in markets abroad.
