Happy 21 st Birthday to Long-Time Chamber Member: Pegasus Publications

In January 1998 Pegasus Publications Inc. opened its doors and launched the Manitoba Gardener magazine to the public. Founded by Dorothy Dobbie, the aim of the new company was to create a media source that was committed to publishing useful magazines that added value to readers, advertisers and the community at large.

With the success of Manitoba Gardener, came sister publications in Ontario and Alberta both receiving their own garden magazines targeted at the specific gardening requirements of each individual province. Our chamber of commerce joined the list of successful titles in early 2000, with Pegasus producing the directory on our behalf.

With continued success came the launch of The Hub magazine, partnering with the Winnipeg Airport Authorities to produce a publication that showcased the richness and depth of Manitoba. The Hub’s success focused on what our International Airport has to offer its many travelers and also to highlight the great business success stories throughout the province. Many travelers read The Hub and take it with them on their respective vacations, using it as a bragging piece while abroad.

Lifestyles 55, launched in early 2009, is dedicated to the mature adult and is a publication that focuses on the needs and concerns of our very active over 50's community. It provides editorial covering issues-analysis, health, wellness, pet care, financial, food … and all sorts of other information of value to people over 50.

The early part of 2016 saw Pegasus head up a new consortium of businesses, each with a specific reach into the media world. The makeup of companies under this new umbrella covered printing, TV, radio, and website and social media development. Pegasus continues to use all of these experts under one roof with the aim of giving businesses the opportunity to plan out structured marketing campaigns at a more economical rate.

This brings us to 2019 and what is happening now. In April of 2019 Pegasus, will be launching its very own newsstand app, giving its many readers the opportunity to subscribe to their favorite gardening magazine online. Once downloaded the readers will have the opportunity to read offline at their own leisure.

An invitation to all Chamber members! Pegasus Publications is planning a race night for July 10 th tickets and are available through the Chamber. Please call (204) 774-4154 or email info@assiniboiachamber.ca if you are interested.
