A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
School is out, the temperatures are rising, and the days are getting longer. For many, summer means traveling, vacations, and quality family time. As you are making plans for the next few months, I would like to encourage you to take full advantage of all the great options we have right here in our own community. This is a great time to be a tourist in your hometown.

We are fortunate to have numerous museums, beautiful parks, historical sites and family-friendly attractions right here in town, and many of them offer free or low-cost opportunities.  Visit Macon is a wonderful source of information, even for the locals! Stop by their downtown Visitors Center at 450 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd to start planning your itinerary.

While you're out and about, be sure to check out our many small businesses. Our small businesses invest in our community. Connect with them through Facebook promoting doing business in Macon. We have everything from shopping to dining, arts and music venues, and these business owners are the lifeblood of our community. I encourage you to support them as often as you can. Here's to a summer full of hometown adventures and rediscovering all of the great opportunities Macon has to offer!

In closing, the Chamber's 6 th Annual Total Resource Campaign will be ending on June 13. However, it is not too late to sponsor an event! Sponsoring an event is a great opportunity for our members to promote themselves to the business community. There are many different events to choose from and sponsorship options range from $50 to $10,000. The money raised from the sponsorships help the Chamber fund the programs and events that are held throughout the year and supports economic development efforts.

If you would like to be contacted about sponsorship opportunities, please email lmcmaster@maconchamber.com . I sincerely hope you will consider participating in this campaign that will assist the Chamber in creating the best place for business in Middle Georgia. Macon Matters!

Sincerely,
Yvonne Williams
