According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, one in five Americans will get skin cancer in their lifetime. The high incidence of skin cancer means regular skin exams are crucial, particularly when you have a family or personal history of skin cancer. Early detection is key to provide you with more treatment choices and improved outcomes.

Skin cancers are abnormal growths that can appear on the skin. Anyone who has spent time in the sun or in tanning beds has a chance of developing skin cancer in their lifetime. However, skin cancer is usually very treatable when caught in the early stages. Contemporary Dermatology specializes in the detection and treatment of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.

With an eye for detail and extensive training, Ongaro specializes in medical dermatology and the management of dermatologic conditions, including skin cancer.

Ongaro holds a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in Boston, and her experience includes clinical experience at Integrated Dermatology in Washington, D.C. and Dermatologic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Ongaro is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) in addition to Pi Alpha National Honor Society for Physician Assistants.

Help the State Assess Business Impacts from February’s Blizzard

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is currently gathering information from businesses that experienced economic impacts during the February blizzard. This information will help determine whether Massachusetts qualifies for the Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program, which provides financial assistance to businesses affected by disasters.

The EIDL program helps businesses recover from economic losses caused by disasters by providing funding that can be used for expenses such as rent, payroll, healthcare benefits, and other operating costs.

To request this program, the state must first demonstrate to the SBA that businesses experienced significant economic losses due to the storm. Local businesses that were affected are encouraged to complete a brief worksheet outlining their losses.

Important:

Submitting this form does not apply you for the loan program and does not commit you to anything. It simply helps the state determine whether Massachusetts meets the criteria to request the program.

If the program is approved, businesses will receive additional information on how to apply for assistance.

📅 Deadline: April 30, 2026

📧 Submit completed forms to: Disaster.Recovery@mass.gov

By taking a few minutes to complete the form, businesses can help the state assess the overall impact of the storm and determine whether federal assistance may become available.

Please email this form to Disaster.Recovery@mass.gov as soon as you can but no later than April 30th, 2026.

Senior Encore. Planning your next chapter. Seminar at Duxbury Council on Aging, set for Thursday, April 30, 11 a.m.

Duxbury, MA

Many of us have worked so hard, perhaps attended college (or beyond), and made many sacrifices. Yet, it is easy to be chewed up by shifting technology, corporate consolidation or office politics. Now that you are of a certain age, what is next? Thoughts about volunteering, hobbies, health, and personal goals? Segueing to a career of greater meaning?

A seminar titled “Senior Encore. Planning your next chapter.” will be held at the Duxbury Council on Aging, 10 Mayflower Street, Duxbury, 02332 and is set for Thursday April 30, 11 a.m. The seminar will be led by Mike Dwyer of Emplana, a career consultant.

For those of us with long careers behind us, this is a chance to give back but we often have concerns about staying current. How do we find the next or final chapter? Next passion project? What resources are available to provide a road map?

After a long career in the private and public sectors, consulting stints with Ernst & Young and Deloitte Consulting and a Master's Degree in Management from Salve Regina university, Michael Dwyer and a select group of advisors developed Emplana, the career pathway.

Emplana Career, based at Cambridge Innovation Center, primarily helps seniors discover their next chapter and white-collar professionals, especially in tech, financial services and accounting, law, risk, professional services. Emplana Career consultants have had high powered careers that involve leading advanced technology and business projects, which keeps the consulting advice current and relevant.
