Our Community Is Coming Together for the Ghale Family

The Ghale family, the family behind Lobster Hut, The Himalaya Restaurant, and MOMO Hut, has always shown up for our community. Time and time again, they have supported local events, businesses, families, and causes, giving back to the community they are proud to call home.

Today, their family and friends in Nepal need our support.

Devastating floods have swept through communities in Rasuwa, Nepal, including Timure and Ghattekhola, places that are deeply personal to the Ghale family. These are the communities where their parents were born and raised and where generations of their family have lived.

The loss has been unimaginable. Members of the Ghale family have lost close relatives and loved ones, and countless others have lost their homes, livelihoods, and, tragically, their lives. Survivors are now facing the immediate need for food, water, medicine, clothing, shelter, and support as they begin the incredibly difficult process of rebuilding.

And now, this family that has given so much to our community is asking for help for their own.

💙 The Himalaya Restaurant will be donating 50% of ALL SALES to relief efforts for their family and communities in Nepal.

We hope our Plymouth community will rally around the Ghale family the way they have rallied around us so many times before.

You can also support the Ghale family's fundraiser on Go Fund Me, which will provide direct assistance to families and individuals affected by the flooding, particularly in Rasuwa. Funds will help provide food, water, medical supplies, clothing, temporary shelter, educational support for children who have lost family members, and emergency assistance to families who have lost their homes and livelihoods.

United Way of Greater Plymouth County will be hosting the annual Day of Caring on September 11, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, bringing together more than 150 volunteers from local businesses and community members across Plymouth and southeastern Massachusetts for a day of hands-on service. Volunteer teams travel to multiple sites to participate in priority volunteer projects identified by nonprofit partner agencies.
