According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, one in five Americans will get skin cancer in their lifetime. The high incidence of skin cancer means regular skin exams are crucial, particularly when you have a family or personal history of skin cancer. Early detection is key to provide you with more treatment choices and improved outcomes.

Skin cancers are abnormal growths that can appear on the skin. Anyone who has spent time in the sun or in tanning beds has a chance of developing skin cancer in their lifetime. However, skin cancer is usually very treatable when caught in the early stages. Contemporary Dermatology specializes in the detection and treatment of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.

With an eye for detail and extensive training, Ongaro specializes in medical dermatology and the management of dermatologic conditions, including skin cancer.

Ongaro holds a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in Boston, and her experience includes clinical experience at Integrated Dermatology in Washington, D.C. and Dermatologic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Ongaro is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) in addition to Pi Alpha National Honor Society for Physician Assistants.

Serving the South Shore, Cape Cod and the Islands, Contemporary Dermatology has state-of-the-art offices in Marstons Mills, The Pinehills, Plymouth, and at the Festival Shopping Plaza, Hyannis, MA.

  • Implement and optimize systems for improved efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee inventory, supply ordering, vendor coordination, equipment maintenance, and IT systems as needed.
  • Track and manage key metrics: revenue, rebooking, retail sales, memberships, provider utilization, conversion rates, and profitability, and report to owner weekly
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, revenue tracking, cost control, and inventory management.
  • Analyze performance weekly, report insights to ownership regarding performance and growth opportunities, and implement action plans when targets are not met.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, state medical board regulations, and internal policies.
  • Oversee chart audits, documentation standards, and treatment quality checks.
  • Maintain accurate and efficient inventory management across injectables, retail, and supplies.

Patient Experience & Growth

  • Elevate the patient journey from inquiry to checkout, to follow-up, ensuring a luxury, personalized experience.
  • Address client concerns or service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Support team training in scripts, treatment plan presentation, and membership sales.
  • Collaborate with the owner and marketing team on campaigns, events, promotions, and community outreach.
  • Support providers and front desk teams in driving rebooking, referrals, and patient retention.
  • Champion new service rollouts and implement effective sales strategies.

Qualifications (required)

  • 3+ years of management experience in a medical spa, dermatology, plastic surgery, wellness practice, or a related medical/luxury service setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage KPIs, increase revenue, and hold teams accountable.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable building systems and structures.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a polished, professional presence.
  • Tech-savvy with EMR/POS systems, scheduling platforms, and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with, and a passion for the aesthetics industry.
  • Comfortable with social media and artificial intelligence.
