Urgent Need for O Negative Blood at Cape Cod Hospital  

(Hyannis, July 8, 2026) The Cape Cod Hospital Blood Bank is in urgent need of O Negative blood donors. While all blood types are needed on a regular basis, there is currently a shortage of O Negative, in particular.

“Type O Negative is often called the universal blood type because it can be safely transfused to patients of any blood type in an emergency,” said Jonathan DeCoste, senior blood donor recruiter at Cape Cod Healthcare. “Our supply is currently low, and we encourage anyone with O Negative blood who is eligible to donate. Every donation can make a lifesaving difference.”

If you or someone you know has O Negative blood, please consider making an appointment at one of our upcoming blood drives.

Donors to CCHC blood drives this month will receive a limited-edition T-shirt.

DUXBURY, MA — This July, the Art Complex Museum's (ACM) Thursday Nights: Oysters and Art series features a lineup of four artist talks tied to its outdoor sculpture exhibition, Under Construction: America at 250. Every Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, visitors are invited to explore ACM's sculpture-filled grounds, enjoy fresh oysters from Duxbury Oyster Co., and hear directly from the artists shaping this landmark exhibition.

Under Construction: America at 250, on view through August 2027, brings large-scale outdoor sculpture into dialogue with the nation's semiquincentennial, inviting audiences to consider how American identity continues to be built, questioned, and reimagined. Admission is free.
