 CHAMBER SHIRT FRIDAY!

Sit back & relax!
It's Delphi Global Technology to the Rescue!

Managing your company's technology doesn't have to be complicated! For a fixed monthly recurring fee you can receive 9 AM - 5 PM technology support from Delphi Global Technology.  This proactive service has the added benefit of being budget-able.  Gone are the days of waiting for something to go terribly wrong and then calling an IT company to come to the rescue - at an unknown/unexpected cost.  In a relationship like this, you will always know how much you're spending on IT service costs month-to-month.

Delphi Global Technology offers a web-based helpdesk for reporting and tracking trouble tickets, a client-facing web portal where they house all of the mutually-assembled information about your company (e.g. ISP information, passwords to Domain registries, etc.) and an asset dashboard where they continually monitor the health of your environment's infrastructure (e.g. servers, desktops, network, etc.). All of these sites are available for you to use as necessary. There's no reason to be in the dark about your company's IT!

If you're tired of slow, unresponsive, unfriendly IT groups, or you haven't experienced the benefit of managed IT services before, now is the time to contact Delphi.

How to Buy a Business

Starting a business from scratch isn't the only path to entrepreneurship - a rapidly growing trend is entrepreneurship through acquisition. It's also an alternative way to grow an existing business. Whether you are interested in becoming a small business owner or are an existing business owner looking to grow through acquisition, this program is for you!

The University of Georgia Small Business Development Center at Kennesaw State University (UGA SBDC at KSU) is hosting a How to Buy a Business Workshop on Wednesday, May 15 at the KSU Center. Designed for those who want to start a business or grow an existing one, this program will demonstrate that buying a business is an exciting path to entrepreneurship and it can be far less risky and easier to finance than starting one.

A cquisition professionals and entrepreneurs who have successfully acquired a company will discuss:
  • the search process
  • assessing and valuing targets
  • dealing with sellers
  • financing the deal
  • due diligence
  • post-acquisition issues
  • franchising: an alternative path to ETA
  • what to expect in the first 100 days

Top 5 Tips Employers Should Implement to
Protect Their Confidential Information and
Trade Secret

Presented by
Brad Adler, Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP

Given that most of a company's sensitive business information is contained in a digital format, it shouldn't be a surprise that we continue to hear stories about departing employees downloading customer contact information, marketing plans, pricing lists and other mission-critical information on their way out the door.  And of course, once at their new employer, those same individuals begin to use that information to directly and unfairly compete with the former employer.  Companies that don't take pro-active measures to protect themselves are sitting ducks to these unscrupulous individuals.
Join us as we address strategies that are helpful for employers to utilize in drafting enforceable non-competition, non-solicitation and other restrictive covenants to protect business interests from departing employees.  We also will provide insight into protecting a company's confidential and proprietary business information and trade secrets, including steps that need to be taken in order to safeguard this valuable information. Finally, we will examine current trends in trade secret litigation and the impact this is likely to have on  future claims.
