Are You An Optimist At Heart?

The Holly Springs Optimist Club (HSOC) was founded in March 2019 as a chartered member of Optimist International, a civic organization that was founded over 100 years ago. Optimist Clubs operate in 28 nations worldwide and have over 85,000 members actively involved in carrying out the Optimist slogan of "Bringing out the best in our youth, our communities and ourselves".

HSOC is dedicated to helping youth and their families here locally in Cherokee County. Through their volunteer efforts, HSOC supports various local community and youth service programs. Some of their projects include: providing food and supplies for local food pantries, donating funds to the Holly Springs Police Department for their "Shop With A Hero" program, and providing Easter Baskets for foster children at Goshen Valley Boys Ranch. They also hold an annual Optimist International Oratorical Contest so Sequoyah High School students can gain experience in public speaking and have the opportunity to compete for a college scholarship.

Are you an Optimist at heart? If you believe that the giving of one's self in service to others will advance the well-being of not only our community life, but humankind and the world, contact the Holly Springs Optimist Club to learn more!
