Is your small business taking advantage of the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), a federal tax credit available to employers who hire and retain individuals from certain groups determined to have significant barriers to employment, such as the long-term unemployed, people with criminal histories and military veterans?
WOTC has enabled companies to receive up to $9,600 in tax credits for each qualifying employee hired, with no limit on the number of qualifying individuals. Take this webinar and find out how your small business can benefit.
Wednesday, November 17th

10 Things You Need to Know About HR to Successfully and
Legally Grow Your Business
PRESENTED BY:
Annette Reyes
The HR Diversity Group
Small business HR is the art of strategically leveraging limited human assets to achieve the best possible results. Properly executed HR initiatives can help small business owners achieve success by helping them tap into the full potential of their most valuable resources.
As the late author Sir Ken Robinson said, "Human resources are like natural resources; they're often buried deep. You have to go looking for them, they're not just lying around on the surface. You have to create the circumstances where they show themselves."
Unleash the full potential of your human resources with the tips and tools that will be provided during this session.
While thinking of signing up for this powerful and insightful session, we might dare to ask:
Why is HR important for small businesses?
To put it in the simplest possible terms: HR is important for small businesses because it sets up your employees, and therefore your company as a whole, for success. HR is the force that drives the processes, workflows, policies, and expectations that determine how people do their work and how people enjoy doing work at your company resulting in strategic business growth and success.

Discrimination and Harassment Complaints: The Steps Employers Must Take When Conducting
An Investigation
PRESENTED BY:
Brad Adler
Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP
If you have employees, then you likely have dealt with a tidal wave of complaints in the last 12 months. In fact, you may feel that hardly a day goes by without some type of "formal" report of harassment, discrimination or some other type of inappropriate conduct. Unfortunately, there is a limit to what an employer can do to realistically reduce the risk of such a complaint. In other words, employers really cannot control the inflow of complaints.
But once a complaint is reported, employers now have the opportunity to take control create the type of narrative that tells the story of a fair and reasonable organization that cares about its employees and exhibits its commitment to a workplace free of bad conduct. To take control the right way, however, takes diligence, patience and competence and it requires those traits to be utilized within a defined investigative process. Join us to learn about the do's and don't in navigating harassment and discrimination complaints and how to best protect your organization against allegations of bias and negligence in its investigative process.
