Longtime nurse practitioner Barbara Lewis retires from Willingway
Barbara Lewis' professional tenure at Willingway had humble beginnings. She started out as a "sitter," monitoring patients who require continuous observation while in our care. It was only about a month before Dr. Bobby Mooney felt like Barbara was ready to step into addiction medicine full bore. Already a certified nurse practitioner, Barbara had an excellent foundation for Dr. Bobby to build upon in teaching Barbara everything he knew about recovery healthcare (which was A LOT!).
That was almost 22 years ago, and Barbara has since cared for thousands of patients at the outset of their path to sobriety. Many can attest to her gentle, kind demeanor and skillful nursing practice. Barbara also fosters healthy recovery by delivering direct honesty that's wrapped in love. We wish her a fond but bittersweet farewell. Barbara will be greatly missed but we know how much she will enjoy lots of extra time with her family, including her precious grandchildren, Aliza and Wayne.

Dirk Graham joins Admissions team
Anyone who has spent time on Unit I in recent years will recognize Dirk. The former nurse aide is a recent graduate of Georgia Southern University and a new dad. He was also just invited to become a coordinator in our Admissions office. Dirk said yes to the opportunity and is now part of this important group of folks who are often the first point of contact to recovery that families in crisis experience when reaching out for help. Congrats, Dirk!
