Valentine's Week at ACA: Support Performing Arts!

The annual Valentine's Store will open Monday morning in ACA's front lobby, and all parents and students are invited to shop for fun surprises with all proceeds benefitting the ACA Performing Arts program. All visitors to the Valentine's Store are reminded to please wear a mask and practice social distancing while in the front lobby.

Items available to purchase will include stuffed animals, candy, and small gifts. Parents can ask the volunteers at the Valentine's Store to have a surprise delivered to their student, and students can purchase surprises to deliver to friends and teachers. Deliveries will be made on Friday, Feb. 12, before lunch.

Valentine Store Hours:

Monday-Thursday

7:30-8:30 a.m.

11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.

2:45-3:30 p.m.

More Valentine's fun from Performing Arts...

If you are looking for a unique way to tell your loved one how much you love them, Luminis, ACA's Show Choir are selling Singing Valentines again this year!

Option 1: Send a teacher, student or a class on the ACA campus a special singing valentine for only $10! The song “I Love You A Bushel and a Peck”

will be delivered complete with a personalized message from you! Valentines will be delivered February 8-12 during break, lunch, before

school or after school.

Option 2: Virtual Singing Valentine's can be delivered via audio, Facetime, or video message. for $15. Choose between: “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You”, “I Love You a Bushel and a Peck” or “You Made Me Love You” (or you can add a second selection for $5).

Next week at ACA

The latest project from Mrs. Rowland's Economics class, Carnations for Companions, is here, just in time for Valentine's Day!

As part of the Performing Arts' annual Valentine's Store, carnations will be sold at the store for $2 each and include a custom note. The flowers will then be delivered on Feb. 11 and 12. Order forms are also available in the Front Office.

Next week, students in the School of Grammar will complete their Day of Love Service Project.

Miss Main still needs 30 deodorants and toothpastes to have enough items for each Grammar student to assemble a hygiene bag.

The bags will then be given to a ministry that meets each Tuesday. Taco Tuesday is a ministry began by Mark & Victoria Bowling with Global Impact Ministries.

The 8th grade class is selling Spirit Wear wristbands for their annual Spirit Wear Week next week!

Get your wristbands in the school office or from the 8th grade class officers during House time.

Price of wristbands:

$2 per day

$10 for the week

Hen House Prayer Meeting: Every Tuesday morning

All parents are invited to join Hen House at its weekly Prayer Meeting in Room 205A on Tuesdays around 8/8:15 a.m. Hen House gathers to pray for ACA and specific needs shared by staff, teachers, and families. Do you have a Prayer Request? Please e-mail Hen House.

*Last week's edition of The Charger incorrectly stated the day of the Hen House Prayer Meeting. The Hen House gathers every Tuesday, not Thursday.

Winter Court postponed...again

The School of Rhetoric's annual formal banquet event, Winter Court, re-scheduled for Friday, Feb. 26, has been postponed yet again. We will now work with our venue, Oklahoma Aquarium, to secure a new date for the Spring.

Why the decision to postpone (again)?

Winter Court is filled with wonderful ACA tradition. One of which is inviting members of the New Order of Augustine (an ACA alumni group) to the dinner, and to participate in the crowning of the King and Queen. Due to the continued concerns with COVID-19, the decision was made to keep the event limited to only ACA students and staff.

The response from students indicated that the traditions of the event were far more important than the date. Therefore, we will postpone Winter Court until the Spring in hopes that time will bring improved community health conditions.

We appreciate the mature decision of our student leaders, and look forward to celebrating with all our ACA family in the Spring. Please contact Mr. Ahrens with any questions.
