CCLS Family,

I want to thank all of our families for completing the health screening each morning. Your cooperation is making CCLS a safe learning environment.

As we continue to settle into the new school year, I want you all to be aware of an important resource provided through CCLS. RightNow Media is a platform of Christian videos much like a Christian Netflix. Once you set up your login information, you will be able to access thousands of videos that provide Christian entertainment and education for children and personal growth for all. From a biblical perspective you can learn more about leadership, healthy marriages, parenting, money management, dealing with stress, and much more.

This is a free resource we provide to all families. We will be sending an automated email out today so that you can create an account. If you don’t see it, check your spam folder. Once you are set up you can watch or listen to videos when and wherever, growing in your knowledge of the Lord and your love for others. If you have questions about set up, please contact Jenna Dehn, Director of Communications, at jdehn@ccls-stlouis.org.

Have a great weekend in the LORD!
Matt Hoehner
Executive Director

...Early Childhood some of our kiddos got to play in a virtual, germ-free ball pit!

...Elementary drop off and pick up went so smoothly - thank you for your cooperation and patience as we work to make the process even more efficient.

...Middle School chapel, students completed a reflection on the word peace, pondered what true peace is, watched a video clip from the "Bible Project: Word Study Shalom", and reflected on several scripture passages relating to Jesus being the provider of true peace.

REMINDERS! Daily Student Health Screening
Thank you to all of our parents for helping us keep our students, staff, and families safe and healthy this school year! We appreciate your diligence in completing the Student Attendance & Health Screening Form for your K-8 students each day. We know it’s an extra step in your morning, and we are thankful for your partnership in protocols like this to make our return to in-person school safe.

Time Saver: The Form should be used to report absences from school for any reason - not just related to COVID (ex. strep throat, vacation, etc.) - this will save parents a separate phone call or email to the school office!

We're sure that you've noticed us sending reminder texts for the health screen form this week. Have you been getting flooded with multiple texts at a time? Or maybe you haven't been getting texts from us at all?
The good news is you can easily update this! We are using our student information system, Educate, to send the automated text messages. To make changes, log in to your Educate account and follow these steps: Click on your name in the upper left hand corner >> Account >> Communication Preferences >> check the Edit box on the right >> make adjustments >> save. Make sure that you have “general messages”, “school closings” and “emergency” checked so that you get notifications for any types of communications we send out. If you are receiving multiple texts, make sure that only your cell is checked for receiving texts and calls. For more detailed instructions and more information about Educate, click here!

For any kindergarten families or families that are new to CCLS and have never heard of Educate, don’t worry! You will be receiving an email in the next few days that will prompt you to log in to Educate. There you can follow the same steps as above to set your communication preferences.

If your alert preferences are set, and you are still not receiving the texts, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Jenna Dehn, Director of Communications at jdehn@ccls-stlouis.org for help troubleshooting!
School Lunches - Place your Orders by Sunday!
The Charger Cafe is open and serving up tasty and nutritious meals for our CCLS students and staff! In order to plan for a menu that includes fresh ingredients, this year we have a NEW system for ordering lunches for the WEEK AHEAD.

Place your order by Sunday evening at 8pm for next week’s school lunches at this link: CCLS Lunch Order Form. The form is also posted on the MY CCLS website under “Lunch Program”.

NEW THIS WEEK! You’ll notice a few tweaks to the form that were made to help make the lunch service process more efficient. Also, you will receive an email notification so you can keep track of your order.
Medical Records and Immunizations
We are jumping into the new school year and will be accepting all medical records electronically including immunizations. We hope this cuts down on the difficulties of paperwork and fax machines. Immunizations and other medical forms including medication authorization forms and allergy action plans may be sent to immunizations@ccls-stlouis.org which is a secure email address for medical records only. As a reminder immunization records and physicals are due for all students by Friday, September 4th.

Additionally, please fill out the Medication Authorization Form if you would like your child to receive Tylenol or Ibuprofen (or any other medication at school). This can be found on the "My CCLS" website and can also be emailed to immunizations@ccls-stlouis.org.
New to CCLS?
New families to CCLS: You're invited to join us for a Coffee Talk at either the Kirkwood or Webster campus. CCLS staff members and current/past parents, Marlena Spurbeck and Jen Pawlitz, along with Executive Director Matt Hoehner and the campus principal, will lead a conversation about getting involved at CCLS.

Please RSVP so we may ensure we have enough space for adequate social distancing, and we look forward to seeing you soon! If you have any questions, please email teammates@ccls-stlouis.org.
Kid Kare Workers: Mon.-Fri. after school (3/3:30pm until 5:30pm), Webster campus. Pay rate: $12.26/hr. Split schedule (2-3 days per week) may be available.

Apply online by clicking Careers at the bottom of the school webpage or email janderson@ccls-stlouis.org.
TEAMMATES Volunteer Opportunities
TEAMMATES is the volunteer organization of CCLS, the purpose of which is to give supporters a variety of opportunities to step forward in partnership with the school to accomplish our mission. We believe it is critical that every parent, grandparent, or other interested person can find his or her sweet spot, a place where a specific talent can be shared. TEAMMATES offers opportunities to volunteer during the day or night, from home or work, and even on the weekends. The more connected our families become to each other and the life of the school the better.

We invite you to check out the many ways to get involved at CCLS. Please click the chart image above to view the TEAMMATES organizational chart or CLICK HERE. Hover over any activity and you will see a description of that event or activity. Click the link directly below the activity to sign up to help at the event. All captains are already in place, so by signing up you are stating that you have interest in being involved, not in running the event/activity. Signing up for events does not always work on all smartphones. A computer is the best device to use to sign up. If using a smartphone, downloading Google Sheets App will allow easier access to the chart.
Theme Shirts & CCLS Masks
Last chance to place your order for this year's theme shirts or CCLS masks! There are limited quantities, so they will be available on a first come first serve basis. Fill out the form to request sizes and masks. Once we confirm that they are available for you, we will give them to your child and your TADS account will be charged.
