The Last Day of School Is Just Around The Corner

With only two weeks until the last day of school, I want to highlight some information for the end of the year.

Traditionally at CCLS we have a Closing Chapel service on the last day of school in which the kindergarten through 8th grade classes gather with teachers and parents to celebrate the year. This year, with the number of students we are serving and space limitations, we will hold two closing chapel services, with only students and staff in attendance. One service will be held at the Elementary Campus and another at our Middle School Campus, both similar in content. The Middle School service will be live streamed on Friday, 5/28 at 9:45am for parents and other family members to view. Along with worshiping our Lord, we will recognize the service of our teachers, announce the Character Formation Project Awards, and celebrate our 8th grade graduates!

After an early dismissal, we will all meet at Kirkwood Park on 5/28 from 11:30am-1:30pm for the Last Day of School Picnic to close out the year. Look below for more information and a link to order boxed lunches for that day!

As we complete this year, I’m so proud of our students and how they all have adjusted and worked through this year growing in their character in Christ. As St. Paul writes: I’m sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).

Have a great week in the Lord!

UPCOMING DATES

8th Grade Graduation May 27

Last Day of School Picnic May 28
...Early Childhood... ECE Parents - just a reminder that our last day of school is Friday, May 28th. All ECE classes will dismiss at 11:45am. There will be no afternoon classes or aftercare that day. Please join us for the Last Day of School Picnic at Kirkwood Park from 11:30am-1:30pm! We hope to see you there!
...Elementary... FIELD DAY IS HAPPENING!
Next Friday, May 21st, the elementary students will be participating in our annual field day. From sponge relays to obstacle courses to shoe kicks to shaving cream baseball, the students will rotate as homerooms through ten different activities. Each homeroom will be wearing a certain color shirt and non-uniform bottoms are allowed. Students are reminded to bring a change of clothes/shoes just in case their clothes become too wet during the events. A big thank you goes to Mrs.Knost for organizing this event. The students will enjoy some Ted Drewes frozen custard in the afternoon as a special treat following the event. (Popsicles will be available for those who cannot have frozen custard.) We are praying for beautiful weather for Field Day.
...Middle School...  "What kind of competitor sees the finish line and slows down? Always finish strong" -Gary Ryan Blair. We are nearing the finish line, the end of the school year is in sight. Students, families, teachers, leaders, coaches all remember to finish strong. We have two weeks left to make a positive impact, two weeks left to build relationships, two weeks left to diligent work, two weeks left to minister for Jesus. Finish strong!
2021-2022 Tuition Agreements

Tuition Agreements for the 2021-2022 school year will be sent through TADS to your email by end of day today. Our tuition payment options will remain the same, but signed tuition agreements are now due by June 5th to secure your spot for the 2021-2022 school year.

Lutheran Elementary School Association will disclose Building Blocks scholarships at the end of the month and those will be added to tuition agreements as soon as possible, prior to the June 5th due date.
We are very excited to once again gather together as a school community to celebrate the last day of school with a picnic at Kirkwood Park. The picnic will be held from 11:30a-1:30p RAIN or SHINE! Join us at the Sugar Creek & Lions Pavilions and nearby picnic sites, located between the tennis courts and playground. Look for the red balloons!

You are invited to order a boxed lunch or bring your own food. Boxed lunch will be catered from Viviano's and will cost $8 (directly billed through TADS for your convenience). These preordered lunches will be available onsite at the picnic rain or shine. Order no later than Monday, May 24th.

There will be a yummy treat after lunch for all to help kick off summer! Please RSVP even if you are bringing your own lunch.

Thank You to Our Volunteers!

TEAMMATES would like to THANK all the volunteers who helped make this year a fun and special one for our children and families. Even in a year with fewer events, did you know we still had over 100 people volunteer their time? CCLS appreciates all the help and support provided in action and in prayer. Whether you were able to volunteer this school year or not, please consider donating your time in the upcoming school year. We hope to be able to have more fun events, and many hearts and hands will be needed!
