May 28, 2021
We give thanks to our Lord, as we conclude another academic year at CCLS. I want to thank all our teachers and staff for their diligence and self-sacrifice through the year to keep our students safe and help them grow into their God-given potential.

Parents, thank you for your support and encouragement throughout this challenging year. We are grateful for the opportunities to partner with you in providing Christ-centered education for your children.

I am so proud of our students. Not only are they a super talented bunch, their grit and joy through this year is a lesson for us all. We pray the Lord’s blessing upon our graduates as they move on to high school and yet always remain a part of our CCLS community. We look forward to seeing the rest of you in August. Please continue to check your inbox for the "Charger Newsletter: Summer Edition", which will be sent periodically this summer with updates and information for next school year.

Have a safe and restful summer!

...EarlyChildhood... The 2020-2021 school year has been filled with joys, heartaches, masked smiles and cautious hugs. We dreamed of having our early childhood students in person (on campus) for a healthy, happy year of learning. So last summer, we looked at every facet of our program and came up with the best plan possible to make our dream a reality. And here we are, in the last week of school, realizing that we have lived our dream! No doubt we have had our share of difficulties, but our kids had something so special - something that not every child has had the privilege of experiencing this year. They had some normalcy in the midst of this very “not normal” year. They played with their friends; they ran around on the playground; they created and explored in their classrooms; they smiled at sweet moments and belly-laughed when things were really funny; they were given comforting hugs by loving teachers; and they were guided by every nurturing assistant. How did all of this happen, especially during a year like this?  Click here to read the full message.
...Elementary... Mrs. Killian is leaving the elementary music program!
Mrs. Killian, our dynamic elementary music teacher, has decided that she will be joining the Concordia Lutheran Church music staff to specifically work in the area of worship arts/children's music. While this is sad for the elementary students and teachers, we know God has a plan for Mrs. Killian to use her gifts to His glory in a different setting. We will miss having Mrs. Killian's joyful presence at the elementary campus. However, those of you who worship at Concordia will be seeing a lot of Mrs. Killian. Thank you, Mrs. Killian, for all of the joy of music that you have shared with the elementary students. We especially enjoyed watching and performing in the spring operettas. God's blessings!
...Middle School... On Wednesday we presented the 2021 CCLS Outstanding Art Awards. These awards went to four students in each grade (5-8) for outstanding work in Art. Please click this link to view the who received the awards and the incredible work of art they created.

Congratulations 8th Graders!

We will be celebrating 43 CCLS eighth grade graduates on Tuesday, June 8th. These graduates hold a special place in the hearts of the teachers and CCLS. We are excited to see what the Lord has in store for each of them and their futures. The graduates will be attending 13 different high schools next year. This includes 26 attending Lutheran High School South. Did you know that 84% of this class had a three year grade percent average of 90% or higher? I would also like to recognize Aubrey Pike. Aubrey is the class of 2021 Valedictorian, well done Aubrey!
To the parents of students in 3rd-8th grade:

The students in grades three through eight have completed three rounds of the Northwest Evaluation Assessment this past school year. Below you will find some general information about the NWEA program including links to resources that will help you understand the scores. In your child's report card you will receive a printout with your student's growth report. The report cards will be mailed during the week of June 7th. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please contact Katie Foristal, kforistal@ccls-stlouis.org or 314-378-7779.

CCLS Alumni

We congratulate our CCLS Class of 2017 Alumni who are graduating from high school this year -- we are proud of the many great things these students have accomplished since leaving our CCLS hallways! We are thankful for the special relationship we have with Lutheran High School South and the opportunities we have to keep up with CCLS students who attend LS. Pictured below are the Lutheran South Class of 2021 CCLS graduates at their Senior Convocation. Pictured also are this year's Lutheran South Valedictorian, Macy Schelp, and Salutatorian, Emma Pawlitz, who have been classmates, teammates, and friends since kindergarten at CCLS. What a privilege we have at CCLS to be able to help set a foundation for success for our graduates!
