Serving Leadership Opportunities

At CCLS, our purpose as children of God is to make God known through serving leadership. In the upcoming weeks we have a couple specific opportunities to serve our community.

CCLS will be participating in a food drive with Kirk Care at both the middle school and elementary school campuses this year. It has really been a tough year for so many families suffering from food insecurity, and Kirk Care has served 30% more families this year than last. Our middle school Student Leadership class will be directing this food drive initiative to aid our community. Please look for details in the upcoming weeks.

If you are looking for a service opportunity for your family, The Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens will host the annual Great Rake event on November 21-22. Participation in this event is a great way to care for our community and build new friendships in Christ --who made God known to us all through his serving leadership!

Have a great weekend in the LORD!

Executive Director

...Early Childhood... Thank you to everyone who came out to our Candy Corn Festival! We had so much fun seeing everyone all dressed up & we couldn't have asked for more perfect weather! Check out our Facebook page to see some of the pictures from the event!
...Elementary... Elementary parking lot etiquette: We have been blessed with some beautiful days this past week. I would like to remind everyone that wearing a face mask is mandatory in St. Louis County. If you are walking your elementary child to the door, please wear your mask. If you are chatting with other parents in the parking lot, please wear your mask. Thank you for setting the example for our students who are working diligently at wearing their masks all day long.

Traffic note: Please remember that in the morning you have two options: parking in the lot or driving through the drop off circle. If you are dropping off in the front circle, we ask that you drive through the east (afternoon pick up) lot and come up to the circle. Doing it this way keeps the traffic from backing up on Watson Road. Please be sure your child is ready to hop out of the car so that the line continues to move. Similarly, in the afternoon please wind your way through the playground lot and then move into the east lot. Cars coming straight up the hill are creating a backup on Watson Road. We do not want accidents happening on Watson Road in front of the school.
...Middle School... All Saints Chapel: Many thanks to Dr. Jason Broge for a great message fthis week. Dr. Broge helped us understand and ponder all the saints God has blessed and put into our lives. Students wrote a letter of thanksgiving to someone who has been influential in their faith formation. I encourage you to do two things; one, help them mail the letter or scan a copy and email; and two, consider doing the same for someone who was a blessing to you.

Fall Honors Awards: Normally at this time of the year we hold an assembly to celebrate the accomplishments of our students and athletes. We will once again be celebrating student accomplishments this year. In the Charger Newsletter, next week, will be a video link recognizing students. Stay tuned!
Thank you!
Thank you for all the support of our online book fair! Many thanks to the elementary students who participated in the bookmark decoration contest. There were many beautiful and creative entries!

Basketball Welcome Desk Help
We are extra excited for the basketball season this school year, but we will need special help to make games happen. Might you consider occasionally sharing 1-2 hours of your time to help welcome people to CCLS, ask them to pass in front of the thermal temperature computer, and direct them to the gym?  Please submit your name to "raise your hand" and say you'd consider helping once our basketball schedule is set (likely start games in December). Thanks for your special help!
