The 2017 Kuwait International Arabian Horse Festival, in its entirety, lasted from February 3-21. It began on February 3-4 with the 6th International Championship, followed by two days of Open House Stud Visits which included an exhibition of artwork by Mr. Ali Al Mimar at Bait Al Arab. Then on February 17-18, it continued with the All Nations Cup - Straight Egyptians and three more days of Open House Stud Visits with the exhibition and launch of the book Ansata Hejazi - Born to Rule. Both shows were excellently organized by and hosted at The Arabian Horse Center Bait Al Arab, the State Stud of Kuwait.

This year's Straight Egyptian and Egyptian Heritage classes will comprise a "stand alone" show under the Region 12 umbrella, with the following classes in each section: Yearling Fillies & Yearling Colts, Junior Mares (2-3 years old) and Junior Stallions, and Senior Mares and Stallions (4 and older), as well as Grand Champion Mare and Stallion classes (Jr & Sr class winners and reserves may participate).
Additional fees for late entries have been waived and there are no qualifications for yearlings and two year olds. Older horses must have shown in a previous show-but they don't have to be winners.
Everyone is also invited to attend the complimentary champagne brunch after the classes, sponsored by Talaria Farms.

The 2017 Scottsdale Show once again included the International Arabian Breeders Classic Straight Egyptian & Egyptian Heritage classes!
The Pyramid Society proudly sponsored the Straight Egyptian Championship Garlands and our members were there to cheer the winners on! As the excitement was building just prior to the Straight Egyptian Championships, The Pyramid Society hosted a Wine & Cheese Social in the VIP Lounge overlooking the South Arena. Members and guests enjoyed camaraderie and learned more about The Society and the benefits of membership.

This inaugural
Four Region Qualifier
, presented by The Alabama All Arabian Show, was held
March 22-26, 2017
at the Tunica Arena & Exposition Center, Tunica, Mississippi.
The show was a great success with a total of over 897 class entries including 140 horses from 20 states with 7 different regions represented. Everyone enjoyed the outstanding facility, friendly competition and several socials throughout the show, including a wine & cheese social hosted by members of The Pyramid Society.
Tom Chasteen, show manager states, "We were also so pleased to partner with Angel Heart Farm as our 2017 charity with all funds from the Walk Trot class entry fees donated to support their program benefiting children who are battling cancer."
A special congratulations to

Dennis Fournier of A & D Arabians states, "We want to thank Judy Sirbasku and Shawn Crews and the entire staff at Arabians Limited for taking such good care of Kamal. He bred some of the best Straight Egyptian mares found anywhere in the world and we are all excited about the foals he produced while on lease."

MAYYA OGM PARTICIPATES IN FIRST ST PATRICK'S DAY PARADE
|
|
Diane Taylor of OGM Arabians shared the following news of her Straight Egyptian mare's first parade: "Mayya OGM (IV Ever Sinan x Marisa RCA) participated in the St Patrick's Day Parade on March 18th in the Fort Worth Stockyards. The parade is a big annual event in Fort Worth, Texas and this year about 200 horses participated. It was Mayya's first parade; she handled it like a pro and was ridden by our good friend and Trainer Kelli Connell."

DORSETT FARMS HOSTS SUCCESSFUL HEALTHY HORSE CLINIC
Ann Dorsett of Dorsett Farms in Woolwich Township, New Jersey hosted a Free Healthy Horse Clinic on April 8th. The clinic, organized by The Mid-Atlantic Arabian Horse Association included a lecture and instruction by Dr. Carey Williams on how to check a horse's vital signs and also included a demonstration of how to properly use a weight tape, with discussion on the scoring of each horse's body condition.
Other health clinics on a variety of topics are being planned for this fall. For more information contact Ann Dorsett at 856-467-0870.
