The Cheese Plate

Dear Hannah,

Soft, tangy, and milky white—fresh cheeses are the darlings of the cheese world. The subtleties of the milk used to make them really shine through, given that they are usually fairly young.

Fresh Cheeses

With their sweet mild flavors and creamy textures—fresh cheeses are delightful all year long, but especially in the sunny spring months. Serve them alone, with vibrant seasonal fruits and vegetables, or simply drizzled with a good quality extra virgin olive oil and topped with herbs and spices.

Cheese Inspiration

BUF Burrata

Presented by BUF Creamery

BUF burrata is hand tied with a special knot and handmade with 10 percent water buffalo milk. It has an outer mozzarella cheese encasing a creamy interior of cows milk and water buffalo cream.

Wooly Wooly

Presented by Forever Cheese

Wooly Wooly® is a soft and spreadable sheep's milk cheese log from Jumilla, Spain. It is the first fresh sheep's milk cheese from Spain available in the U.S., and this type of sheep's milk cheese is also quite rare in Spain. Prominently sweet with just a hint of tang, this pillowy soft cheese with a luscious, creamy texture really stands out. Its rich, sweet, and mildly sheepy flavor is wonderful on its own, but also works well in any number of cooking applications.

Oregon Chèvre

Presented by Peterson Cheese

It all began 11 years ago when Dr. Lauren Action, farm owner and goat expert, decided to produce the best quality chèvre from her award-winning goat herd. Based in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, a region traditionally known for wine, Portland Creamery still produces the utmost quality chèvre from their exceptional goat’s milk and practices. Their chevre is airy and spreadable with a bright and tangy profile, sure to melt in your mouth.
