Dear Chesterton Families,

Happy Friday! Today is the last day of our faculty and staff in-service days, and your CATHF Team has been hard at work. I'm so excited to welcome each of you back into the building and get going on a great year of growing as Chesterton Saints together.

To the news:

Uniform Delays We've heard from many of you - especially freshman and transfer families - that you are experiencing delays with uniform delivery. Ms. Jurado has been in contact with SchoolBelles this week and, similar to everyone else on the planet at this moment, they are experiencing some steep shipping delays and staffing shortages. All this amounts to the disappointing reality that some of you will not have your full uniform ready to go for Orientation days this week and possibly for the first day of class on August 29th....

Temporary Uniform Dress Code Have no fear! SchoolBelles provides us with regular updates about who ordered what and when, so we are able to see those who will be out of uniform due to shipping delays and who will be out of uniform due to... let's call it "Delayed Ordering" after the SchoolBelles order deadline had passed.

If you do not have your full uniform, please adhere to our temporary uniform policy:

  • Boys:
  • gray, black, or navy dress pants;
  • white button-down dress shirt;
  • tie: muted, dark colors with a simple or solid design;
  • navy or black blazer;
  • standard dress shoes comfortable enough for everyday use.

  • Girls
  • gray, navy, or black skirt that hits below the knee;
  • formal-dress plain white blouse or button-down with short or long sleeves;
  • navy or black sweater or blazer;
  • opaque navy or black knee-high socks;
  • standard dress shoes comfortable enough for everyday use.

Thanks so much for your patience with SchoolBelles and for ensuring that your full CATHF uniform or temporary uniform is ready to go. Remember that all students must come in uniform for Orientation Days next week, with the exception of Thursday and Friday. More details will be provided about Frassati Days dress code during Orientation.

Optional Tutorial on Plus Portals After the 10 am Parent Meeting

PlusPortals is our online learning management system. It is where you will see your student's discipline reports, grade reports, online forms, and our school calendar.

Our Educational Services Manager Ms. Alexandra Scherb will be providing an in-person tutorial on Plus Portals. Spots are limited to the first 15 signups so that Ms. Scherb can provide individualized attention. We will record a video tutorial for those who are unable to attend in person.

If you will be attending in person, please bring your own laptop so that we can test that the site works on your system.

Click here to RSVP for the in-person Plus Portals Tutorial at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 22.

Finally!

Today is the feast day of St. John Eudes, another 17th century French saint. He's the founder of two religious orders: the Order of Our Lady of Charity (1641) and the Congregation of Jesus and Mary (1643). Here's one of my favorite quotes, excerpted from his treatise on the Admirable Heart of Jesus: "Jesus longs to be in you, living and ruling in you, as the head lives and rules in the body. He desires that whatever is in him may live and rule in you: his breath in your breath, his heart in your heart...so that this scripture may be fulfilled in you: Glorify God in your body, that the life of Jesus may be made manifest in you."

I hope you're ready, Saints......... IT'S GO TIME!

Peace,

Fr. Ryan
