February is filled with opportunities to raise awareness as well as days to celebrate.
Groundhog Day is celebrated today, February 2….and, the verdict is six more weeks of winter! Punxsutawney Phil the groundhog saw his shadow this morning. There is no snow in the near future for northern Nevada, but we are looking at some cool weather.
February is Black History Month and we found this great resource from Scholastic on ways to celebrate the distinction. Take a look at their website for book recommendations for children of all ages.
February 4 marks National Wear Red Day. We support the coast-to-coast challenge to create a wave of red to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease and help save lives. Send us your pictures wearing red and we will share them on social media!
After an exciting season of football, we look forward to the Super Bowl on February 13. While we all have our favorite teams, and some of us only really watch the fourth quarter of games, this season was filled with great victories and some heartbreaking defeats. We look forward to a safe celebration with just a few people, hope for a great game and, of course, entertaining commercials!
Valentine's Day is nearly here! Our family tradition includes ordering, or making, heart-shaped pizza and serving it with Caesar salad. We have been doing this since our children were young and, although we aren’t all together for Valentine’s Day very often, we love that our kids are carrying on this family favorite. Below, we have compiled some more fun ideas to help you celebrate with your family.
