While 2021 continued to shower us with zingers and unprecedented events and circumstances, I am heading into 2022 with a sense of renewed hope that is guided by the resilience learned these last 2 years. I was recently asked what my personal word for 2022 is…Full disclosure, this is not something I have previously done, or really thought about. But, I am always up for new experiences, and driven to take this on with confidence and knowledge, I had to do some research. I quickly found websites, books, and lists all dedicated to choosing one’s “Word of the Year” (WOTY). The idea is that rather than setting different New Year’s Resolutions, you select one single word to be your focus for the year. As of today, I have narrowed my word choices to a few, and have a couple more exercises I plan to complete. I am committed to honing in on my word for 2022 by the end of this week. It’s not too late to choose your WOTY, please feel free to join me in this experience, and if it is also new to you, there is a ton of information on the topic just a click away!

Adopt A Family & Toy Table Results
|
|
First of all - Thank you! Without the donations from this amazing community, we would not have been able to support so many families this holiday season. Your gifts brightened so many lives!
This year our Adopt A Family program reached 209 families in Nevada, helping 874 individuals!
Through our Toy Table, we were able to help an additional 290 families. We worked with families to learn about their children’s interests and hobbies, from there volunteers helped make the magic happen by packaging together holiday gifts from the many donated toys, gift cards, and clothing items. Thank you!
350 families received Thanksgiving meals, Christmas meals, and holiday food baskets. A big thank you to our partners with Reno Firefighters and Sam Saibini Christmas Food Basket Program, Food Bank of Northern Nevada, and SFI Health for providing much-needed food for families to be able to enjoy a nice meal.

Predictable revenue, like a recurring donation, is so important. It helps us plan big, long-term programs so we can forecast where in the community we can help.
If you're interested in setting up a monthly recurring donation, you can use our secure online donation form, button below. Simply click on the box that says monthly (instead of "One-Time") for donation type to begin.
