The Children’s Center Utah Connection Vol. 4
July - September 2021
Letter from Rebecca Dutson, President and CEO
Dear Friends,

On behalf of the young children and their families who rely on The Children’s Center Utah for necessary mental health treatment, thank you for your continued support. This spring and summer, it has been a pleasure to see some of you in person and we hope to see many more as we gather again to hold our upcoming Hope and Healing Breakfast at the Alumni House, University of Utah, on November 4. Strict safety protocols will be in place. Please join us! Click here to register or see below for more details.

With families facing so many difficulties during the last year, compounded by the pandemic, we saw an increased need for the specialized mental health services we provide. During our 2020-2021 fiscal year, we treated nearly 1,200 young children and their families. Of those, 857 children benefited from our Clinical Services ranging from outpatient therapy to psychological evaluations. In addition, 158 received treatment in our Therapeutic Preschool Program, and 159 were served through our Early Childhood Consultation and Training program, which offers a variety of services to childcare centers, preschools, and other programs serving infants and young children. To reduce potential exposure and spread of COVID-19, we allowed families to continue accessing our services virtually and our Therapeutic Preschool Program classes remained in small, closed-class cohorts.

As we kick off our new fiscal year, we are excited to announce the addition of Utah to our name to better reflect the reach and impact of our services. Our steadfast commitment to addressing early childhood mental health needs throughout Utah remains firm. #ForTheKids!

Your continued investment in young children in need of our services is inspiring! Thank you for helping Utah children hope, heal, and thrive.

With gratitude,
President and CEO

2021 SHINE Experience
Thank you for the incredible show of support for our 2021 SHINE Experience!

It was lovely to enjoy a limited in-person open house at our Center on June 2. Delicious food and drinks were catered by Blended Table. Guests took a sneak peek at silent and live auction items. On June 4, guests participated in a virtual gala where we successfully raised over $550,000!

Many thanks, again, to our generous donors, sponsors, committee members, and our team for helping young hearts SHINE!
The Children's Center Utah Welcomes Back Volunteers
After more than a year without volunteer support in our preschool classrooms, we gratefully welcomed back a limited number of volunteers who were vaccinated and wearing masks. Our children and team have missed them so much -- our Therapeutic Preschool Specialists are thrilled to have an extra set of eyes and hands in their classrooms. The kids are just as excited to have more playmates and friends!

2021 CCI Golf Tournament
Extra and special thanks to our friends at CCI Mechanical, Inc. and the vendors and sponsors that made the 9th Annual Golf Tournament benefitting The Children's Center Utah the most successful tournament to date!

Over $60,000 was raised to enhance the emotional well-being of Utah infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families.
Staff Appreciation Day!
Due to COVID-19, gathering together as an entire team -- in person -- has been difficult. As an organization, we feel it is important to recognize the extraordinary lengths each team member takes to ensure critical services continue for our young children and families. We were excited to reconnect, celebrate, and recognize our team's many accomplishments from the past year while enjoying Utah's Hogle Zoo! A safe, fun, and relaxing evening for our team members and their families! Cheers!
