Hello, 2026-2027 School Year!

Hello TCC families!!!

While we are still several weeks away from the official start of the 2026-2027 school year, we are excited to share details on a few pre-first-day activities for you, including some parent events, playdates, and more! We will continue to share email updates over the next several weeks, and look forward to seeing you all soon!

Please take a look at the welcome from our Parent Sponsor (similar to a PTA President) at the volunteer opportunity link below; it's one of the best ways to get involved, have some fun, and even meet YOUR new best friends!

As for preparing for the first day of school, we will continue to provide ideas and insights throughout the summer, as you prep your child and yourself for the successful start to the new year! Thank you for the paperwork and information you have sent our amazing Admissions Coordinator, Kim Garvin. This will help your child, our teachers, and you have a smooth start to the new year.

In this issue, Laurie Darlak, our Director of Education, shares a bit about our beloved Home Visits tradition. What a special treat for our young learners to have their teacher visit them at home! Be on the lookout for Early Birds and the Extended Day enrollment link coming soon, too! There is a lot to prepare for a new year, and we are here to help you every step of the way.

If there is anything we can do to support you and your child, please let us know. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are so excited to welcome your children and your family to another wonderful year at The Children's Center!

Kindly,

Christy Tornelli

Exciting News:

TCC Home Visits are Coming!

Dear Families,

As we prepare for an incredible new school year at TCC, our teachers are looking forward to connecting with your family in a very special way before the first day of school: Home Visits!

Home visits will begin the week of August 24th.

Why does TCC do Home Visits?

Starting preschool is a massive milestone, and it’s completely normal for little ones (and parents!) to feel a mix of excitement and butterflies. Home visits are one of the most effective ways we can bridge the gap between home and school.

  • A Friendly First Introduction: Meeting a teacher in a familiar, safe environment allows your child to connect with them on their own terms. When they see their teacher on the first day of school, they’ll already see a familiar, trusted friend!
  • Learning About Your Child: You know your child best. This visit gives you a dedicated opportunity to share your child’s strengths, interests, comforts, and any routines that will help us support them.
  • Building a Partnership: We believe that education is a team effort. This casual meetup sets the foundation for a strong, supportive relationship between your family and our staff.

What should you expect?

Please don't worry about tidying up or hosting us! These visits are designed to be short (usually about 10-20 minutes), relaxed, and completely informal. The teacher might bring a favorite storybook to read with your child, play a quick game, or just chat about what they like to do.

Next Steps: Keep an eye out for a Brightwheel message from your child’s teacher in August to find a date and time that works best for your schedule. We are so excited to partner with you and can't wait to see your child bloom this year!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Laurie Darlak

Director of Education

Greetings parents! I hope your summer has been filled with sunny days and fun activities so far!

My name is Kasey Noll, and I will be the Parent Sponsor at The Children's Center for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! My husband, Mike, is a Board member, and we have two former and current TCC students - Harris (almost 6) graduated from TCC in May, and Poppy (almost 4) will be in PK 5-Day this coming school year. We have loved being a part of this community for over four years now (and counting!)

As the Parent Sponsor, I will coordinate our events throughout the year with our wonderful parent volunteers. We hope you will consider joining us to support The Children's Center while meaningfully connecting with other parents through volunteering. Thanks to years of dedicated parent volunteers, the school is able to offer the events and traditions that make this TCC community so special. Whether you're a veteran family or new to the school, we can always use your help. No commitment is too small!

The Volunteer Form linked below has more information about roles and responsibilities; please let us know what interests you! We are happy to answer any specific questions you may have. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or ideas on ways to support The Children's Center!

We have a lot to look forward to as the school year approaches, so stay tuned for important details about back-to-school events!

Let's Stay in Touch!

Our weekly school emails are our primary way of communicating with our community, so please let us know if someone else in your household would like to be added to the distribution list so they can receive emails like this one.

Just complete this FORM, and we will add them.

We will continue to use GroupMe, so please join the TCC 2026-2027 Parents group. This is another useful communication platform. The TCC Moms and Dads groups (for all TCC moms and dads, new, current, and alumni) remain the same, and each individual is welcome to join or leave the group at anytime.
