City of Chino Announces First Chino Cares Emergency Preparedness Fair in Conjunction with National Preparedness Month 

Mark your calendar for September 16 and be part of history at the first annual Chino Cares Emergency Preparedness Fair.


In sync with National Preparedness Month, this event, is all about equipping you with the knowledge and tools to tackle emergencies effectively.


Expect informational booths, live demonstrations, giveaways, and even free emergency preparedness starter kits for pre-registered households.

September 30 Document Shredding Event

Join Supervisor Hagman, the City of Upland, and the Upland Police Department for a document shredding event. On Saturday, September 30, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (or until our shredding truck reaches capacity), head to Memorial Park at 1150 E. Foothill Blvd exclusively for San Bernardino County residents. This is your chance to securely dispose of sensitive documents on-site, receive valuable identity theft prevention tips from law enforcement experts, and contribute to a safer community. Please note, there's a limit of three standard filing boxes per vehicle, and the following items are not permitted: CDs, DVDs, binders, x-rays and plastics. September 30 Free Compost and Mulch Giveaway

Did you know all residential green waste collected curbside is made into a soil conditioner? This FREE event takes place Saturday, September 30 at the Public Works Services Yard (5050 Schaefer Avenue) from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Here are some friendly reminders:

  • First come, first served to Chino Residents (Be prepared to show identification and utility bill.)
  • Bring a shovel and durable containers to load and transport material.
  • Masks, gloves and eye protection are recommended.
  • Non-Chino residents can attend during the last hour of event if materials are still available.

October 14 - Free Residential Community Clean-Up

The City of Chino, in partnership with Waste Management, is providing a FREE Residential Community Clean-Up (13793 Redwood Street) for City of Chino residents on Saturday, October 14 from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Dispose of unwanted tires, furniture, appliances, electronics, yard waste, concrete, brick, dirt, scrap metal and much more for FREE! Hazardous waste will not be accepted. Proof of Chino residency is required (CA ID & Utility Bill). For more information, call 800-423-9986 or send our Green Chino team an email.

October 21 - Pumpkin Garden Festival

Experience the magic of autumn at the Chino Community Garden (5976 Riverside Drive) on Saturday, October 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., during the Pumpkin Garden Festival! Unleash your creativity with pumpkin carving, garden workshops, and crafts. To be a part of this seasonal celebration, secure your spot by registering today.

October 31 - Halloween Spooktacular

Get ready for a ghoulishly good time at the City of Chino's Halloween Spooktacular event! Join us on Tuesday, October 31, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Ruben S. Ayala Park, Fields 11, 12, and 13 (14225 Central Avenue, Chino, CA 91710).


This FREE spooktacular extravaganza promises a wide array of activities, including thrilling carnival rides, tantalizing food vendors, and eerie entertainment. Don't miss out on the chance to win exciting giveaways and indulge in delicious treats.
