The Christine Center
News and Program Highlights
With Love and Compassion for All
We open our hearts in solidarity with the people of Ukraine in this time of great suffering, and to all the people of the earth experiencing the losses and pain of conflict, natural disaster and climate change. May we find wholeness and continued movement toward the realization that all of creation is one.
An Island of Sanity
in a troubled world.
This is the way many people experience the Christine Center these days.
Quiet; peace; close up contemplative time with Nature. Close up time with yourself or a loved one. The stillness calling you . . . .

What is the Experience of Retreat?
A retreat is a deliberate and dedicated time to pause, breathe, and temporarily withdraw from the competing demands of personal, family and work responsibilities. A retreat can simply be time spent alone or it can be part of a group experience. In either case it is allowing “me time” for silence, rest, and reflection.
Why should I Plan a Retreat?
For the last 2 years Covid has forced many of us to retreat to our homes to be alone or with loved ones. To many the break with daily routine was a blessing, and to others a cause for stress. In either case, the pandemic presented a time for pause, to re-evaluate and re-assess how we live our lives with respect to work-life balance. Perhaps doubts or questions may have arisen regarding existing relationships or the lack of them; career choice; or the spiritual path we have chosen. Perhaps we noticed the desire for spiritual deepening. The retreat experience provides an opportunity to re-connect with the “still small voice” of our very essence, and the peace and connection we are seeking.

How do I Plan a Personal Retreat?
One good way to begin is to set a personal intention for the time you are dedicating. This can be a simple word embodying the insight you are seeking: peace, guidance, clarity, connection. A clear intention can serve as a guiding light for practices you may choose to engage in such as meditation, centering prayer, yoga, walking, writing, intuitive painting or star gazing. The sounds of nature are a soothing and self connecting change from the busy human environment.
Private Retreats at the Christine Center
The Christine Center is nestled within a woodland sanctuary. We offer a variety of comfortable and inviting guest spaces, including private hermitages and guest houses. Guests are free to walk peacefully along forest trails, encounter the vast array of flora and fauna, and experience the serenity of nature. Private Retreats can be arranged to include a Spiritual Guidance session. Opportunities for creative self-expression in the St. Hildegard Art Studio are available, as well as a large library of spiritual literature, the amazing Spirit Jewel Bookstore, wood fired sauna, and regular meditation sessions in the Chapel.

Group Retreats to Support your Exploration and Discovery
This summer, and year round the Center offers a wide variety of group experiences; many inviting opportunities to follow up on that spiritual calling we all find within ourselves, when we take time to listen. Over the next few months we have an amazing and diverse offering of programs. Most are on site, but many are available on line from your own home. Please look through the following list and see what speaks to your heart.
