The Christine Center ~ Clark County Art Walk

Last weekend the annual Clark County Art Walk breathed a sense of spring and renewal once again into the hibernating campus of the Christine Center. Many thanks to Sr. Gabe Uhlein who organized the event and to our dedicated volunteers, who greeted guests and provided requested tours.

The Center became alive with over 300 inquisitive local visitors, compliant with rules of social distancing and masking. Guests were greeted by smiling volunteers, samples of tea, spices, and our famous homemade Cookies of Joy.
Along with singing bowl meditations and a live drumming circle around the fire each day, The guests were invited to view works of art for purchase by artists Ann Winschel, Cheryl Long, Gabriele Uhlein, Henry Eisenhauer, Lynn Schafer, M. Henrita Frost, SSND, and Wade Britzius.

The works of the artists were displayed in several areas of the main building, as well as our, soon to be, new Art studio, which will be dedicated in June. The current Hope Art studio formerly the Willard post office, built in 1932, was relocated to the campus by Sr Virginia. Hope studio will be retired and re-purposed. The new Art studio is made possible by a generous grant from Wheaton Ministries.

As the Center awakens from this most unprecedented year, we truly look forward to greeting you upon your return.
A special feature of the Art Show included a metallic rose specially designed and gifted to the Center by artist, Henry Eisenhauer.

"Since ancient times, roses have symbolized God at work in whatever situation they appear. The intricate and elegant rose offers a glimpse of a masterful creator's active presence in creation. As this fragrant flower blooms, its buds gradually open to reveal blossoms with lovely layers—an illustration of how spiritual wisdom unfolds in people's lives." ~Whitney Hopler

It has been said that angels may use the scents of roses as physical signs of their spiritual presence. Roses have powerful energy fields—the highest of any flower on Earth.

The Christine Center offers you this majestic rose for a donation of $100, which will assist in supporting the Center’s programs and operations.
