Director's Letter

Friends, we are in our last push for fundraising for our solar project. We are only $50,000 away from our final total. We have chosen a solar company for our installation and are so excited that this is becoming a reality. We are so grateful to everyone who has donated so far. We will, of course, have a big ribbon cutting event when we are all plugged in.

I am always astounded by the continued generosity of this community. I don't just mean monetarily, I mean with the generosity of kindness and volunteerism. So many in this community contribute in plenty of ways. The library is lucky to have so many volunteers who help; Shelving, cleaning, gardening, sitting on board meetings, organizing fundraising, and so much more.

We have had several wonderful volunteers who have retired from service this past year. Their dedication, hard work and kindness will be remembered as our library continues to thrive. Their efforts have helped to build this library as a sustaining part in the everyday lives of community members. This starts with the parent who brings their baby in for their very first story time. That introduction of books and storytelling begins a child on the most important journey they will have in life. What starts with the love of books, then on to the love of learning. Children continue to have opportunities at the library to learn about science, nature, and art. As we grow up, we might think we should put away childish things, but it is never too late to learn a new skill or craft and to make new friends. We continue that with the adult classes we offer all year long. We hope that those volunteers who help and later retire from assisting understand how great their impact is on this community.

This month, as we are melting in the heat, take a moment to think about our community and how it has helped you. Here at the library, we are thankful every day for how our community helps us.

See you at the library!

Solar Power for the library

We are currently at 73% of our goal to raise $178,000 for our Solar Power Project by July 4th!

Many donors are honoring loved ones by donating $1,000 and naming a panel in their honor. If there is someone in your life who loved libraries, this is a wonderful way to honor their life and legacy.

We appreciate every contribution to our project! Visit our website to learn more and to donate!
