It’s hard to believe that summer is almost over. It feels like just yesterday that the students left town, freeing up an abundance of parking spots I never knew existed! Ha!
With the approach of August 1
comes the reality that many young people are moving back into our town. Some are joining us in CoMo for the first time, while others are returning to the place they now call home. Their return brings a special opportunity for each of us to help these young adults find a home here in The City.
The Neighborhood has been working all summer to create a schedule that will hopefully draw students to our doors. However, that’s only one piece of the puzzle. The best way for The Neighborhood to be successful in reaching our college-age neighbors is through relationships! The more they feel like a member of The City, the more likely they are to invest in the movement we’re creating.
So, I invite you to join me over the next few weeks in prayer for our Neighborhood. Each day, take just five minutes to pray for the Holy Spirit to be at work on our surrounding campuses. As we prayerfully see an increase in college-age people within our community in The City, I ask that you actively and warmly welcome them into the fold. Get their name, learn their story, and maybe even invite them out for a post-church coffee. In doing so, you can create a bit of heaven in The City.
