Stay Home, Stay Safe Orders
The City of Cedar Park is under both the Williamson and Travis Counties’
Stay Home, Stay Safe Orders
issued on March 24, 2020. Under these County Orders, all individuals living in Cedar Park must stay home or at their place of residence, except as needed to perform essential activities, work to provide essential business or maintain continuity of operation of critical infrastructure sectors. The Orders are in place through April 13, 2020. Continue social distancing (six feet or more) and washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
You can:
- Go to the store with as few people possible
- We recommend that you take a list of what you need to help expedite your visit
- Exercise outside with social distancing
- Care for a family member or pet in another household
- Continue child visitation in custody agreements
- Work for or go to an essential business
- Order and pick up food from local businesses
- Pick-up prescriptions
Please do not:
- Leave home to visit friends or family members if there is no urgent need
- Hold or attend any public event or gathering
- Allow your kids to play on park playscapes

Mayor Corbin Van Arsdale
says that how long we remain under the
Counties’ Stay Home, Stay Safe Orders
largely depends on us as a community.
He urges us all to:
- Stay home
- Adhere to social distancing, handwashing and cleaning guidelines
Together, he says that we will get through this – as one Cedar Park.

Rumor Patrol
RUMOR: Residents should call 9-1-1 to report violations of the Stay Home Stay Safe Orders.
FACT: If there is a safety issue related to the Stay Home Stay Safe Orders call the non-emergency dispatch line at 512-260-4600 (ext. 0) to report it. Only call 9-1-1 in an emergency.
RUMOR: Bulk trash will not be picked up due to COVID-19.
FACT: Services are running as usual. That includes pick up of recycling and trash carts and up to 7 bulk items. If services are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the City will announce changes through social media and on our website.
RUMOR: The recycling truck will pick up anything outside my recycling cart.
FACT: The recycling truck will pick up cardboard if it is bundled. Any other recycling (other than bundled cardboard) outside the cart will not be picked up.
Any other recycling (besides bundled cardboard) outside the cart will not be picked up. On non-recycling weeks, the trash truck will pick up cardboard if it is bundled and take it to the landfill. It will count as one of the 7 extra items.
RUMOR: The trash truck just drove by and did not pick up my yard trimmings.
FACT: From Monday, March 23 through Friday, May 1, yard trimmings will be collected to be recycled. Tree and shrub trimmings must be no more than four feet in length and no more than four inches in diameter and weigh no more than fifty pounds. Other yard trimmings such as leaves and grass clippings must be placed in brown paper yard waste bags and not in plastic bags. During this yard trimmings recycling period, yard trimmings may be placed in addition to your bulk items limit of seven (7) items outside of your trash cart. March 26 City Council Meeting
Adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic impacts and with public health and safety a priority, we are leveraging technology to conduct public meetings. Although our City Council meeting was entirely remote, efforts were taken to keep the meeting as similar to our regular meetings as possible including opportunities for public comment for those wishing to speak.
Meeting Highlights:
- Voted to authorize a resolution postponing the City of Cedar Park City Council May 2, 2020 General Election to November 3, 2020
- Discussed City of Cedar Park’s COVID-19 Declaration of Local State of Disaster

Why is there a fence, caution tape or a closed sign in parts of the park? In an effort to help stop the spread of COVID-19,
Mayor Corbin Van Arsdale issued an Order closing all City-owned and/or HOA operated playground equipment, playscapes, pools, splash pads, pavilions, exercise equipment and drinking water fountains within the City of Cedar Park
.
For your safety and the safety of others, please respect any fencing, caution tape or signs and do not enter these closed areas.
|
|
While community-use park equipment within City limits is currently closed, you're still able to go for a walk/run/bike ride on trails. Please make sure to keep your social distance of at least 6 feet from those not in your household.

"I am a 75 year old, with underlying health problems. In the last week I have had 5 of my younger neighbors volunteer to get groceries or any other item that I require. It thoroughly warms my heart that these young, caring, professional, neighbors will take time out of their busy lives to assist an older neighbor. I can not thank them enough. We have a very caring community and I thank them all." -Margaret
