Calling all Library fans
We need your help to celebrate the Cedar Park Public Library’s 40th Anniversary this January! Take a moment to make a short video (watch ours for ideas) about your best memories at the Library. We’ll share it with your fellow Cedar Parkians during the month-long celebration in January.

Holiday safety tips
When picking up your mail and packages:
  • Be aware of your surroundings when checking your mail at your mailbox or at a mail collection box
  • Mail contains many items that are attractive to thieves, such as checks, money orders, credit/debit cards, and merchandise
  • Do not let incoming mail sit overnight in your mailbox or in a collection box
  • Deposit any outgoing mail inside Post Office lobbies or in a USPS blue collection box. If you place your outgoing mail in a blue USPS collection box, be sure to do so BEFORE the last collection time
  • As a reminder, the longer your mail stays in any mailbox, the more susceptible it is to theft

When shopping:
  • Do not leave any purses or shopping bags in plain sight
  • Lock your car doors
  • Bring all valuables inside once you get home
  • For online shopping, only use trusted sites and safe payment methods
Tips from the FBI on how to avoid online shopping scams:
  • Beware of deals that are too good to be true
  • Ensure a website is secure and reputable before providing credit card and personal information
  • Report scams & fraud to ic3.gov

We ❤️ CERT Member Rochelle Kinter
CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is a volunteer program in which civilians are trained to help keep our community safe.

In late November, Rochelle Kinter noticed smoke and followed it to a home that was on fire. She dialed 9-1-1, and alerted the family inside — who were unaware of the fire. She assisted the family out of the house.

Thanks to Rochelle, The family of six people — including an infant and their pets — was able to exit the house without injury.
Holiday trash and recycling schedule change
If your regular scheduled trash/recycling pickup falls on Christmas Day (December 25), or New Year’s Day (January 1), your trash/recycling pickup will slide one day, including to Saturday. For example, if your trash pickup is on Friday, it will be picked up on Saturday.

Wastewater averaging happening now
It's time to shut those irrigation systems down for the winter.
  • Lawns are dormant
  • Save a bundle on your water bill
  • Wastewater averaging is happening now through February—this calculates your sewer rate for the entire year
