Official news about the City of Cedar Park from the City of Cedar Park.

How do you get around town? How would you like to get around town? Come to the meeting and take our survey!

We're working on a Mobility Master Plan (MMP) that takes a comprehensive look at transportation to better serve everyone who walks, bikes and drives in Cedar Park.

The MMP is a long-range plan meant to create a safer, more accessible and more efficient transportation network that improves quality of life for local residents.

The City of Cedar Park is seeking input from all residents to help guide recommendations for the plan. Please attend the Public Meeting to learn more about the plan and participate in a resident survey. Your input will help guide the plan development.

RedLeaf Begins Construction on The Bell District

RedLeaf is proud to announce that we have broken ground on The Bell District — a 50-acre, walkable, mixed-use development and signature destination in the heart of Cedar Park that is scheduled to open its first phase in 2024.

Located along Bell Boulevard between Buttercup Creek Boulevard and Park Street, The Bell District will celebrate the best of Cedar Park with restaurants and retailers, high-density residential, offices, 16 acres of park, greenspace and trails, and a new City of Cedar Park Public Library.

Planning for the Bell District began in 2014, when the City of Cedar Park launched a robust public engagement campaign to develop a community vision for the revitalization of the city-owned property. In February 2020, the City signed a 20-year master development agreement with RedLeaf to lead the public-private project.

Important Milestones Reached

In the last year, the City completed the re-alignment of Bell Boulevard, improving safety and freeing up more land for development in the district.

During this time, RedLeaf worked closely with the City to design, plat and secure permits for the first phase of construction — a year-long project now underway to install the streets, underground utilities and other critical infrastructure needed to support walkable, mixed-use urban development over the coming years.

Design work on the new City of Cedar Park Public Library wrapped up this summer and the City is preparing to start construction.

RedLeaf commissioned a series of pop up murals on buildings at the intersection of Bell Boulevard and W Park Street to mark the groundbreaking milestone and enhance the corridor while phase one is under construction.

Looking Ahead

RedLeaf will begin building The Bell District’s first residences, retail and restaurant spaces next summer, as well as the district’s first parking garage. This first mixed-use block in The Bell District will open at the same time as many of the district’s unique public amenities, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024:

  • The City of Cedar Park Library — a multistory community space is scheduled to break ground by the end of the year.
  • The Backyard at Bell — a central lawn and activity center nestled between shops, restaurant patios and the new library.
  • Bell Park — parkland and trails along Cluck Creek and a spring-fed pond, framing the southern and western borders of The Bell District. This City project will break ground about a year from now.

Much progress has been made toward realizing the community’s vision for a uniquely Cedar Park destination where people of all ages can live, work, eat, shop, gather and unwind. We look forward to sharing more new details about what’s planned and new milestones reached in the coming year.

Worth the wait: Lakeline Park opening soon

Lakeline Park Phase I is still on track to open in 2022 - but is a little "late to the party" thanks to some unique challenges.

Remember that awful downpour we had at the end of August? It caused flooding - then we had those recent additional outdoor watering restrictions due to the BCRUA repair: not a good recipe for installing sod!

We've cleaned up the flood damage and have resumed the sod installation - so expect Lakeline Park Phase One to open soon.

We know you're as eager as we are to start enjoying the canoe-kayak launch, fishing pier, trails, sports fields, play equipment (with zipline!), picnic pavilions and large performance pavilion. Lakeline Park Phase I will add 100 acres of parkland to our Parks system. We'll keep you posted.

Also, we'll soon start designing Lakeline Park Phase II. It's a 2022 voter-approved bond funded project and it's in our Fiscal Year 23 Budget.  At full buildout, Lakeline Park will be Cedar Park's largest park, with 200+ acres of developed parkland in Cedar Park!
