City Council adopts FY 22 budget and lowest tax rate since 1998
The Cedar Park City Council adopted an ad valorem property tax rate of .432 for every $100 of property valuation at its September 9 meeting. this represents a one-and-a-half cent drop from last year. It's significant, given the increase in property values. This marks the ninth consecutive year City Council has lowered the tax rate - the lowest since 1998.
Remember: the City’s portion of property taxes represents only about 18 percent of your total property tax bill; the rest goes to the school district, county and other taxing entities. With the City’s $5,000 homestead exemption, the average Cedar Park homeowner will see roughly a $9.62 monthly increase in his or her property taxes paid to the City in 2022.
Council also adopted the Fiscal Year 2022 budget. The Budget theme is Future in Focus. Click on the links below to see highlights of the $66.47 million General Fund Budget.
