As part of a Cedar Park Police Department staffing and strategic planning study, the City is asking for 26-30 residents to volunteer to participate in one of three focus groups planned to be held near the end of September 2023. The focus groups are separate from the Police and Fire Department surveys that are open to all Cedar Park residents. Volunteers selected to participate will be notified via email.

Custom Innovation Platform Agreement
Cedar Park Economic Development Corporation marked progress on City Council strategic goal to support and grow tech entrepreneurship for individual and startup businesses in Cedar Park. On August 24, 2023, City Council authorized a custom innovation platform agreement between the Economic Development Sales Tax (Type A) Corporation and Plug and Play, LLC, an international business accelerator. A business accelerator is a program that provides developing companies access to mentorship, investors and other support to help businesses become self-sufficient. This partnership is designed to grow and strengthen Cedar Park’s economy by creating new jobs and businesses in targeted industries. Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin said, “These exciting developments are proof that our high quality of life and our welcoming culture is bringing the smartest people in the world to build innovative businesses to provide tomorrow’s solutions to today’s problems.” See the presentation and discussion here.
